Everything was clean and the lady was extremely polite and helpful. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and I'll definitely visit again when I get the chance! ?

First class rooms for rent. Newly built in a quiet neighbourhood in Ermoupolis near the port and half way to Ano Syros - the medieval town. A public park of pine trees and a children' s playground is located near the facility. Diana Rooms is located in the centre of Hermoupolis, within walking distance from the port and from Miaouli Sq, which is the centre of the city.

Reviewed By 706chantellewDimitris and his family were so welcoming and went out of their way to help us. Dimitris also collected us from the port which made life super easy for us with a young child. We stayed in room 6 which was on the top floor and had a lovely spacious terrace and amazing views. The room itself was a good size and had it's only little kitchen area. Diana Rooms are in a great location with just a short walk into town. If we come back to Syros, we will definitely stay here again. Great hosts, great rooms. 10/10

Ξεκαθαρίσαμε απο την 1η στιγμή ότι ανεξαρτήτως τιμής θέλουμε δωμάτιο με θέα ( 3ου ορόφου) καθώς ήμασταν διατεθειμένοι να δώσουμε την διαφορά και μας διαβεβαιωσαν ότι δεν κάνουν διακρίσεις στα δωμάτια λόγω κοινωνικού τουρισμού. Φτάσαμε βράδυ λόγω πλοίου και φυσικά μας δόθηκε δωμάτιο ΙΣΟΓΕΊΟΥ μαζί με την απάντηση " σιγα μην σας ειπαμε ότι θα δωσουμε δωμάτιο του 3ου σε κοινωνικό τουρισμό" ενώ ο ιδιοκτήτης προσπαθούσε να μας πείσει με ΕΝΤΟΝΟ ύφος πως ολα τα δωμάτια ειναι ιδια και ο ιδιος ποτέ δεν υπήρξε "βλακας" για να ξοδεύει λεφτά στα ταξίδια του προκειμένου να βλέπει την θεα. Το δωμάτιο επαρκες και καθαρό - πολυ καλη η τοποθεσία. Κατα το check out μας εκαναν φασαρία γιατι θελαμε να πληρώσουμε με κάρτα σχεδόν μας έβρισαν και επεμεναν " ειναι δυνατόν να μην έχετε λεφτά πάνω σας; ". Αναγκαστηκαμε να παμε τράπεζα για να βγάλουμε λεφτά ( δεν μας πείραξε αυτο αλλα η απαράδεκτη συμπεριφορά) ΜΑΚΡΙΑ ΑΠΟ ΑΝΘΡΩΠΟΥΣ ΠΟΥ ΔΕΝ ΕΚΤΙΜΆΝΕ ΤΑ ΛΕΦΤΆ ΠΟΥ ΠΑΊΡΝΟΥΝ ΚΑΙ ΔΕΝ ΞΈΡΟΥΝ ΝΑ ΦΈΡΟΝΤΑΙ. Overpriced and hidden charges
Reviewed By Celia LThe mansion is nice, but it clearly doesn’t offer the services of a 5-star hotel and it is overpriced for what it offers. In addition, the owner made the entire experience unpleasant for us. This is how: I booked on the phone and the owner offered me the luxury suite for 150€/night (instead of 170€) with the condition that she wouldn’t issue a receipt. (I shouldn’t have accepted this deal, because, as I realised later, this was because she wanted to avoid the taxes.) She kept my credit card number, though, for the case of no-show. While on the phone, she asked me whether we wanted to dine at the hotel on the night we arrived and offered to bake us stuffed tomatoes herself. She did not mention a price for this service and we considered it a courtesy. At checkout, however. we were surprised to find out that she charged that dinner 40€ without ever informing us in advance (aside from the fact that 40€ is a high price for a vegetarian dish, compared to the finest restaurants on the island). She also charged 10€, because we asked for 2 extra towels. Again, she didn’t inform us that the towels would cost extra when she handed them to us. We expressed our surprise and negotiated with her and she agreed that these extra charges were due to a misunderstanding. She agreed not to charge us these 50€ at checkout. Later that evening and after checkout, though, I SEE A CHARGE 50€ in my credit card and an sms from the owner saying that it is unfair that we didn’t pay for the dinner and the towels and, therefore, she charged the card I communicated with her for the case of no-show. What an unpleasant surprise and what an impolite way of treating guests! (She didn’t issue a receipt for this either). Some further entails you wouldn’t expect at a 5 star hotel, which left us with a bitter feeling: - We had to move to the Deluxe Double room on our last night. This room does not have an outside window (only a window that looks at a 1m2 backyard, where guests hang their beach towels). Toilet odours have no way to escape and we had to live with them in the room. - The toilet brushes were very dirty and unhygienic in both the Luxury suite and the Deluxe Double room. - I had to ask for hair conditioner and body lotions, essentials that are expected at a 5 stars hotel. - I asked for two extra towels and the owner asked me to pick them up myself from the mezzanine. All in all, this nice mansion deserves a better management. Until it gets one, I wouldn’t recommend it.

The staff here was charming and helpful. the location is wonderful and the views from this area are amazing. This is not the hotel for you if you have mobility issues but if you can manage a few stairs and a few hills then it's really worth it. The breakfast area on the roof terrace is stunning and next time I'll get a room with a view because I think it would be well worth it. I will absolutely stay again if I get back to Syros.

Clean basic hotel in good location with friendly owner
Reviewed By Suzanne2303We stayed here with our Intrepid group on our two night Syros stay. It is a 10 minute walk from the ferry, doable with trolly suitcases. It is close to the shopping area, cafes, has an excellent bakery close by and also next to a fruit shop. We walked a few minutes to a great traditional restaurant for lunch. No breakfast is provided but close to a bakery or restaurants along the water front. The owner is very helpful and friendly. There is also a two person elevator which is better than climbing the steps. There was also an outside clothes line from the balcony where clothes dried very quickly! Toilet paper in the bin as in most Greek hotels. The shower was also a little tricky but manageable. Overall a good place to stay.

Reviewed By Hakon57Stayed three nights at Avra Rooms - on the second floor. Traditional greek room - nice and clean. Good bed. Located in a quiet street close to the port, the centre and within walking distance from Ano Syros. The room cleaned every day. Nice hostess, but speak only greek. Would stay there again - especially if I have an early ferry - less than five minutes walk.
