Ermoupoli (Greek: Ερμούπολη), also known by the formal older name Ermoupolis or Hermoupolis (Greek: Ἑρμούπολις < Ἑρμοῦ πόλις "Town of Hermes"), is a town and former municipality on the island of Syros, in the Cyclades, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform, it is part of the municipality Syros-Ermoupoli, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. It is also the capital of the South Aegean region. The municipal unit has an area of 11.181 km.

While staying in another town in Siros, we wanted to visit Kini for dinner. in august the place was packed with people. This restaurant is on the beach, in fact more or less into the sea. And the sunset view is fantastic. Make sure to be there between 8 and 9 pm, to enjoy this. We got the best recommendations, but was a bit disappointed. Yes, the food is good, but nothing more. I was expecting more. And service was not very good. They packed the place full, took our order, and served the food... afterwards it was almost impossible to get them to the table.

We tried Kouzina on our first night in Ermoupolis and really enjoyed their contemporary fine dining! The food was very tasty and generous. The tables outside were below vines leaves and the environment made it a perfect and enjoyable evening. I could eat their every night!

If you want to eat nice italian food, pizzas etc. and drink good wine or bear, choose it. It is situated closed to the port and the staff is super.

On holiday in Kini, we've found ourselves dining here three times - the food is dependably great and the service is warm, friendly and efficient. The restaurant is located in the heart of Kini, adjacent to the beach. All in all, I would rate it the best value in town and it seems to attract a loyal local clientele as well as tourists like us. Ambience is always great too. Number 1 in Kini!!!

A great little bar and bathing area right in the town of Hermoupolis. It's a lovely spot for an evening drink or an afternoon dip. Great to have access to sea right in the centre of the town

This is a typical Greek taverna with great food and VERY GREAT FOOD, GOOD PRICES. The personnel is very gentle and helpful, there are many Greek specialities that are not the typical moussaka and gyros ;) and the bill is extremely reasonable. BRAVO!

This low budget restaurant is situated in the city of Syros, in a picturesque street near the centre. It is run exclusively by women. I loved the food. So fresh and alive! Don´t forget to book in advance, otherwise you will not find a portion.

A very popular street just off main square in Ermoupoli - with lots of restaurants - serving from traditional food of Cycladic Islands and local Syros specialties. some even stepping up, to upmarket international cuisine - and decor to match. A very vibrant atmosphere here.
We went after theatre very late and decided on Petrino (stone building as name suggests) and being hot -outside dining under pink vines of bougainvillea - bonus was 2 piece band playing Greek music for diners.
We ordered the house salad and some boiled beetroot with skordalia,
Cycladic souzoukakia and lemon cooked lamb with veg and "cafaraki"
Of ouzo with ice and water and beer.
Nothing fancy but beautifully cooked island fare - tasty, very fresh and satisfying - 48 euro. Plus complimentary limoncello drinks and watermelon.
Staff very polite, helpful and eager to make sure diners happy
Great place to spend an evening eating, people watching and enjoying the entertainment.
Ermoupoli is not very big so walk everywhere and feels very very safe.
