Reviewed By Tali SWe spent one night at Villa Hotel and the place is very nice, clean and elegant. The staff is hospitable and the service is wonderful. Great breakfast! The room we got was small but cozy and clean. Comfortable beds. The park around the hotel is lovely.

We wanted to see a real old restaurant
Reviewed By Tamas OIt was a disappointment. The old building was closed and the restaurant is in a new no style building without any feeling. We were four and only two tables were used when we arrived. The waiter was nice and quick, but we needed to wait more than 50 minutes for our order. Incredible long, never go there if you are really hungry... Otherwise, the food was excellent and copious.

Reviewed By Mokhaled NI have been in different places, but I have not seen such a nice place like this hotel. It's a family business, they are so friendly, helpful, and so kind. The rooms are so organized and clean. I really recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit debrecen.

Don’t bother
Reviewed By stedee101Have visited many hotels and was not impressed with it. Room was large so you had plenty of room but it was dark and drab. There looked like there may have been a flood in the room as the wallpaper had black marks all down it. Rooms not cleaned at all when we were there but towels were changed if they were in the shower. Information in the dresser draw said get robes free of charge for use in sauna and hot tub. Went to reception sauna and hot tub closed no longer in use but still on hotel information. The only good thing about the hotel was the staff very friendly.

Simple and clean place, very well located, 3 mins by walking from the Piac, the main street of Debrecen and of course the price is cheap. The stuff ia very helpful and assist when ever it is required. I'll keep staying in Play pub.

Reviewed By jm2centsStopped there for 2 nights, waiting for friends leaving Ukraine because of the war via border to Hungary but blocked in Kyiv longer than expected. Best of the hotel is probably the large car park, easy access from motorway. A modern building, rooms are good, very clean, but part of the installations and even room really needs maintenance improvement. Breakfast and dinner buffets kind of average at best. Despite being very clean, modern - far from 3-star to international standards. Reception staff mostly friendly, very good english. Have decided after 2 days to move for a hotel closer to the border, doubt I would stop at Hotel Median on a possible future trip in that area.

Relaxing accomodation
Reviewed By HobitziWhat's good: large rooms, big comfortable bed, air condition(directed from down), large bathroom, well equiped room and bathroom, good breakfast buffet, nice young employees, very good kitchen (try the goose liver, the breaded mozzarella and any of their soups :) ), the thermal pool opened 24/day, the free entrance to the Kamilla Thermalbaths. What's not so good: located in a transport station-area so you are facing the noise from buses and trains(but thanks to the ingenious and good air conditioning and well isolated windows, that's not a real problem), the terrace is very conventional and not fit into a 4 star hotel, the wifi signal is often lost, they are not responsive to the e-mails.

Ok stay in a gloomy inn

We needed two rooms for one night for a short visit to Debrecen with my elderly parents to celebrate an 82. birthday and visit Modem with its major current exhibition. While we are grateful to the hotel for the attention we got, there are a few areas for improvement. Pros: - location: could not be more central; - readily available booking information re. rooms, parking, terms, etc.; - parking is easy and nearby considering the fact that the hotel is in the pedestrian area of downtown Debrecen; - staff is friendly and accommodating; - breakfast is made to order, offers good selection and is lovingly served; - beds are comfortable, with impeccable bedlinen. Cons: - check-in is long, tedious with long forms to fill, documents to be scanned, check in staff is same as bar staff, which makes the process more difficult; - hallway to rooms is gloomily lit, decoration both in hallway and rooms is in poor taste; - lock on door to room 8 is partly missing or broken, with huge, outdated hard to operate key; - heating is unreliable, we were decidedly cold in the morning (rooms 5, 8), this may have to do with poor window insulation though; - electrical outlets missing in rooms, no easy place to charge devices; - toilet paper holder broken in bathroom to room 8.
