Mir for the independent traveller
Reviewed By averyglenthorneMir is accessible from Minsk by taxi or bus. Buses run from the central bus station in Minsk next to the main train station. Tickets must be bought at the ticket office, not from the driver. When I visited on a Friday in May 2018 the helpful Information Desk at the bus stations gave me times of 8.40am, 9.40am and 11.50am for getting to Mir and returns at 15.45pm, 16.23pm and 17.03pm. I caught the 8.40 - 5.82BYN- which is a 30-40 seater and most seats were taken. The journey takes approx. 1 1/2 hours. At Mir the bus station is in the town square and the ticket office is through the unmarked brown door to the left of the accessories shop. Return tickets, also from the ticket office not the driver, are not sold until the bus is due but I was given times of 12.50pm, 13.10pm, 14.20pm, 14.40pm, 15.45pm etc. so there seem to be plenty of buses back to Minsk. I caught the 13.10pm - 5.34BYN - , another 30-40 seater which was half empty. 2-3 hours is more than adequate to view the castle, cost 12BYN. I saw no evidence of a taxi rank at Mir so if a taxi is needed back to Minsk who knows how that is organised.

Well located yet awkward
Reviewed By Vaidas72Plusses: good location, kind and helpful ladies in the reception (not sure they speak English), large terrace in so called "suite" on a third floor. Minuses: no elevator; breakfast on the opposite end of the building (separate entrance) and it starts only from 8.00 a.m; paid wifi; extremely awkward layout of the suite - shower and toilette are in the opposite ends, there is kitchen furniture but no furniture equipment, bedhead is moving; absolutely no snacks of any kind in the lobby - just soft drinks and tea; you can get your beer and snacks in billiard bar on the ground floor, unfortunately it also includes extremely rude service.

Reviewed By besttravellereverWe stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in September last year. We had 1 bedroom with living room and kitchenette area. Nicely decorated, everything clean and airy. Comfortable beds; the only downside was the fact that curtains are not black-out at all, they let all the light in which makes it impossible to sleep after sunrise. Would be good if at hairdryer was available at least at the reception on request. Замечание для владельцев отеля - хорощие номера и вежливый персонал, но, пожалуйста, поменяйте шторы - в гостинице должны висеть шторы, которые не пропускают солнечный свет. После восхода солнца невозможно спать. И фен для волос, если не в каждом номере, то по запросу у администратора.

Good location but not great room
Reviewed By Pip CThe staff were fairly friendly and its a fairly central location. The mattress was old and terrible. The curtains were useless to keep out morning light. Kettle and cups provided in room, but no tea or coffee. The breakfast didn't look great - I just had coffee which was good.

A pretty small village mnore famous for its Castle
Reviewed By Colin DA pretty small village, that is worth spending a few minutes to walk around if you have time. Yes the main atraction is Mir Castle about 600m away, but it is worth walking into the village and taking a look around. There is a small market in the square that only had 3 stalls when I visited a few shops and two churches. The white painted Catholic one by the market being the most impressive, with the other one the main road looking as though it could do with some maintenance but still has a slightly run down charm

Бронировали в основной вилле, при встрече Татьяна (встречающая и готовящая) , любезно сказала, что поселит нас в отдельном домике без доплат, там будет удобно нам. Предложила нам ужин за 6 долларов с человека и тут конечно....просто неуважение к гостям из Москвы или .... совсем на добропорядочных и приветливых белорусов не похоже: Отварной картофель без грамма масла, два мизерных кусочка курицы в кляре, огурец и помидор и чай просто ,который стоял и так и нормально не заварился. Хлеба дешёвого 4 кусочка, попросили ещё, так такое лицо скорчила.... В итоге: Плюс расположение, чисто Минусы: Ужин и сама администратор Матрас на двухспалке с пружинами,которые всю ночь давили Комплекты полотенец- их нет, просто старые полотенца вразнобой, ну за 40 долларов могли комплект купить и предоставить ( 40 долларов в селе где 4 ре дома, как в Европе прям цена)

The Raduga hotel of the first category is founded in 1980. The last reconstruction was in 2008 year. Located in the town center, close to some shops and cafes. This sity is famous for the construction of nuclear power plant. Ostrovets is located on the road Minsk-Oshmyany-Gudogay-Ostrovets. Distance from Minsk – 150 km. Distance from the railway station Gudogay - 5 km. There is FREE WI-FI on site. There is a system of discounts for groups of tourists, people with disabilities, for children etc.

Reviewed By lightsvRecommended. Located in the town center, close to some shops and cafes. Staff are polite and helpful. Our room was quiet,clean and warm. Wi-fi is available only downstairs. They don't provide breakfast. Nothing to do there except visiting a magnificent cathedral in Gervyaty.

Fun, charming and reeeeeally simple
Reviewed By Hanna ZThe toilet seat was loose and the shower cabin was placed in the kitchen which we shared with two other couples. It wasn't at all what we where expecting BUT... It was awesome! The house and the neighborhood is beyond charming. The guy who owns the place is the sweetest man there is. He even gave us a ride to the next town cause there where no buses. I would highly recommend it if you're looking for a fun experience.
