The Huangpu River splits Shanghai into two districts: Pudong and Puxi. On the Puxi side, you can walk the Bund riverside district to get a taste of old Shanghai.

I visited this place and loved it. There is a calmness surrounding this area. It feels peaceful and serene. Though you are not allowed to climb up the steps, it is nice to behold it's beauty. Also, the park it is in is gorgeous with many old trees and all kinds of flowers. This is a nice place to visit to get away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city life.
