10 Things to do in York University Heights That You Shouldn't Miss

October 15, 2021 Natalie Tallman

We've heard Toronto described as "New York City run by the Swiss," and it's true—you can find world-class theater, shopping and restaurants here, but the sidewalks are clean and the people are friendly. The best place to start is literally at the top—the CN Tower, the tallest freestanding structure in the Western Hemisphere.

Great place to visit. Went here on a Saturday with a friend. Rental gear was good, not broken at all, and was fun to use. The guns provided were, I believe, Amoeba CQC AEG's; top notch quality. The other reviews stating that they 'broke' are quite questionable in my opinion. The eye and face pro were evidently very durable and safe, this being proven by being shot in the face multiple times. So to all you parents out there, don't worry about your child getting hurt or injured. The more experienced players were very friendly towards us 'Hoodie Warriors', and showed us ways to improve our CQB skills. One even let me use his gun for a round, (kudos to him.) The Refs were ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS. They were extremely friendly and always had fun ideas to make gameplay better and better. Always filled with practical jokes as well. Employees were... quiet, but still provided exceptional service nevertheless.

Black Creek Pioneer Village

Immerse yourself in the 1860s and explore an authentically re-created country village of the Toronto region. At Black Creek Pioneer Village, visitors discover 40 historic buildings, 70 rare and heritage breed animals, 10 gardens growing flowers and plants from heirloom seeds, and exciting programs that engage people of all ages. They meet costumed educators who demonstrate and involve visitors with trades and crafts common in 1860s’ Ontario, tap their toes to music of the era, laugh at the hysterical antics of the History Actors, and have fun engaging in hands-on activities throughout the village!

amazing and a great way to reconnect with our food system. Black Creek is also a very interactive and real way to learn about Canadian history and specifically about the history of the Toronto region. Great way to spend the day with the kids. I can’t recommend this place highly enough! It’s also quite easy to get there by TTC now that they’ve built the new subway extension.

This is the second visit to Escape Games and it was just as good as the first time. We did 2 of their missions and had a blast. Noriko was my favorite. It was intense and realistic. Enjoyed every minute and will go back again the next time we are in Toronto. Their location is easy to get to by subway and they also sell snacks and have board games for you to play while you wait for your mission to start.

Lesson area had very fun targets to aim at. Equipment was great, plenty of foam tip arrows. Play area was spacious and allowed me to sit in and watch.

Murdoch Mysteries Escape room was really Enjoyable. The actors were superb. We had only an hour to find the location of the kidnapped agent. The plot was really thickening as we were revealing murder location clues, secret room, finding keys through all sorts of puzzles and a plot twist. Complete strangers worked together so well that we were able to find the agent literally in the last second. AMAZING!!
