Located in Yautepec de Zaragoza between Cuernavaca and Cuautla, it's on Paseo Tlahuica after you take that road off the highway. It's a smaller site with a few small pyramids and some outbuildings that were part of a palace complex. Well maintained, it even has bathrooms, it's a nice little site if you are into pyramids.

This is really a lovely hike. It is quite easy to get to the top using the normal route, but there are dozens of other trails, some of which hidden, once you get there to go behind the temple and up other Mountains. There will be no signs and few people so it might be easy to get a bit lost. Id recommend downloading the area on google maps on your phone so you can track your location. Keep in mind that the area suffered a big earthquake in August and September, so don't try to climb through narrow Canyons or anything like that. It is a bit

We attended a wedding held at this convent and it was very, very beautiful. The former Convent was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in the 90´s and it´s one of the best kept Convents from the area. The mural paintings are very beautiful. One of the chapels hosts a small museum and there are informative panflets available.
Regarding the shoes, please be advised that cobblestones are everywhere: the stairs, the entrance, the side entrance, all access is cobblestones. The cloister is safe for your ankles, but getting there will be tricky.

This ex-monastery is huge and dominates the zocalo area of Tlayacapan. This site is part of the "Monasteries on the Slopes of Popocatépetl" World Heritage Site. The grounds themselves are modest now. You can visit the church part which is still used for local worship. There is also a museum located in the monastery building attached to the church, which I unfortunately did not have time to visit. An impressive glimpse into the power of the Augustinians in the 1500s.

not only Spanish, but about the history and culture of México is here at ASLI. Yes, I've written reviews before, but I just returned from ANOTHER unforgettable trip with a small group of high school students and adults at varying beginner-to-intermediate-to-advanced levels. All were comfortable; all were welcomed and perfectly placed in wonderful host families. You can come to ASLI alone, with a friend or partner, or with a group. I have done all three!
From the moment we were greeted at the airport, we had an incredible time! For the teens, three hours of classes a day were perfect. We had planned excursions in the afternoons to el centro, pyramids, historical sites, museums, and more, from both ancient and ultra-modern México. Maru, Edgar, Rosita, Paco, and all of the teachers are experienced, understanding, and ready to answer any questions. The side trips, tours, and other places in the city they can recommend will personalize your experience. We climbed Teotihuacan, took salsa lessons with Amore Salsa, visited the Robert Brady Museum, the Cathedral of Cuernavaca, Xochicalco, Tepotzlán (via una ruta, thanks to Maru!) Vista Hermosa, and the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. My students really enjoyed the VIP cinema on our last night of classes, and Las Estacas natural Water Park on the day before we left.
The school is in an area that is within walking distance to everything you need for a great trip, including tacos at La Gringa III, Italian Coffee, and pizza or pasta at Armando's or Marco Polo, if you're not sharing comida with your family. If you're not into walking much, the Radio Taxis are safe, prompt, and inexpensive.
Spanish Language Institute is the BEST choice for a learning experience, plus more.....you'll come away with improved Spanish, a love for Cuernavaca, and a promise to yourself to return. "Nunca, Adiós. Siempre, Hasta la vista."

Come on a Sunday after 11am for one of the largest markets around Mexico City. Street after street is covered with tianguis. The selection of souvenirs is vast and inexpensive. There are many great restaurants around the Zocalo and plenty of clean WC if you need a bathroom. I recommend parking in one of the pay lots and walking a few blocks down into the center of town. Don't try to drive to the Zocalo.

Go and visit the pyramid of the plumbed serpent. The history and architecture are well worth the trip. Bring a hat and sunglasses as it is hot. The vista is spectacular. Go into the cave and tour to the sun shaft.

No recuerdo cuantas veces hemos acudido al Balneario. Siempre es una buena experiencia. Hay lugar para todos, el rio, pozas y cascadas son muy bellas. Aun cuando el agua es fria, con un chapuzon basta. Ademas se puede acampar o bien solo ir de salida por entrada.
Lo unico malo son los toboganes, casi nunca funcionan o tienes que subir tu cubeta de agua.

You won't be surprised, it is as any market around Mexico. You can find some local handcraft with particular style, if you like delicate handcraft it will be hard to find quality in here, it is cheap with the respective products.

If you are going to Tepoztlan on a Sunday for the Tianguis, this is a worthwhile stop. Just off the Zocalo, so no extra driving is necessary. When you enter the grounds the entrance to the Convent is the doors to the left of the sanctuary. Check out the beautiful wall designs downstairs, but make sure you go upstairs to see the view! There is a very nice gift shop downstairs as well.
