Went here on a Sunday afternoon. I would say the best place to park is the Hasbacher Strasse instead of Flughaferstrasse. On one side you'll find the forest, the other is the 'heide'. Great place to go for a walk with young kids.

My 2nd youngest boy Joel asked me if there was a minimum age for diving. There is a general recommendation, but all of us need to be lectured on safety and tec-talk. This can happen at a dive training and that's what we we getting past Saturday in Siegburg. A full 8 hours of theory and 3 or 4 dives in an inside pool, 20m deep at the max. We had a weeks time of preparing with 200 pages of base-training manuals, but there is so much material that I would not recommend to confront kids under 14 to try to take exams. We also found out that 8 years is too young for reasonable training. However, 10, 12 and 13 years boys and girls can attend the underwater tutorials surprisingly well. What we gained is glowing eyes and a brain load of imressions to build a diver career on. What we paid is hefty, but comprehendable when considering all the suits and gear rental and 4 full air tanks consumed.

I visited the museum exactly on the day of Global Climate Conference. The exposition starts already in the underground station, right before the museum entrance. This time photos from massive German coal mines where displayed. Purely from the visual perspective the photos where magnificent, but obviously coal is not most environmentally friendly way to heat our houses or produce electricity.
Mr. Adenauer's Mercedes and his train are on display. Several audio and video installations, as well as books, describe his time in German government.
Unfortunately due to reconstruction main part of the museum was closed. Still it was interesting to learn about Germany as the country of societies (Verein). There are more than 600000 of them in Germany.
I also enjoyed a nice display of German automobile history with yet one more government "pullman" Mercedes.
The museum is completely free of charge. There is a nice cafeteria on the 1st floor of the museum. Free WiFi is offered throughout the museum. You can reach the place by U66/67. Takes about 7-8 minutes from Bonn central station. I walked along the river. Walk from Bonn central station to the museum lasts around 1-1.5h.
I definitely enjoyed my several hours there.
99% of the signs are in German. Several reviewers already said they would've liked to see English explanations as well, till now it's not done. Nevertheless it's worth the visit.

Здание построено в начале 20-го века, сильно пострадало во время второй мировой войны. Сейчас там располагается семинария. Можно немного погулять по территории - посетить церковь, посмотреть на ухоженный внутренний дворик с балюстрады и получить общее представление о здании. В фойе была любопытная выставка "Земной шар", там же можно ознакомиться со стендами о истории монастыря.

Really good varied menu with good service a must visit . We had fillet steak twice.mmmm lovely. You can eat inside or out.......fab friendly service and they have an English menu for those of us who can't read German.

Erstmals haben wir einen dieser "Escape Räume" ausprobiert und waren begeistert von der Gestaltung und dem gut organisierten Team. Hilfreiche Tipps gab es tatsächlich immer dann, wenn man irgendwie nicht richtig weiter kam. Man taucht sofort in das Spiel ein und auch in unserem "fortgeschrittenen" Alter ohne die Teilnahme von Kindern hat es allen sehr viel Spaß gemacht. Jetzt haben wir wieder eine gute Geschenkidee für unsere Neffen und Nichten.

I visited this park during the UN climate conference, often walking between the two zones. It must be a lovely park in summer, but it was especially beautiful in late autumn with all the reds and yellows of the leaves falling from the trees and blanketting the ground and the ponds and lakes. I wish I had more time to explore many of the paths in this park. If I return to Bonn in more summery conditions, I'll definitely spend some time in this park.

HUMA is the only Shopping Center in Sankt Augustin. The old building will be replaced by a new one in 2015 has not many shops, but the shops which are in are really nice.
In the 2nd half of 2015 the shopping center will expand and it will be newer and nicer as the old building.

This pool has a bit of everything, it has a couple of slides, indoor pools, outdoor pools, warm and cold baths a younger kids bit. My 4 year old absolutely loves it and prefers it to all the other places within a 40 min drive of Cologne. Defo recommend a visit.

The Abbey has lovely views out over the Rhine/Sieg area. If you are in Siegburg, it is worth visiting the Abbey just for the views.
I found my visit a little sad, though, because I learned while visiting that the last monks had left the Abbey in 2011 due to a shrinking population of young men attracted to the Benedictine community. So much faith and effort over so many centuries, and now abandoned--sigh. The Diocese of Cologne has taken over the site and is planning to turn it into some kind of retreat/convention center. For the time being, most of the monastery (including the former restauarant) is closed to the public. The Abbey church is very attractive, and has a holy atmosphere. A very good place to sit for a time and set the world's cares aside.
