Friends Pub

Have stopped in at Friends several times when I have been in Stayner to visit family. Food is always great. Love the pulled pork Sandwich, sweet potato fries and their fish and chips. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere, Especially in the winter it always seems cozy and warm. Parking can be an issue on the weekends and their sign can be hard to spot when you are driving through town. Worth the second drive down the street.

Highlands hosted the 2015 OFSSA X-C meet. The course was the best X-C course I have seen in years. If the course is this great in the fall the winter skiing must be the best. There are plenty of hills and flat trails.

Creemore Springs Brewery

We're proud of what we do here at our little brewery and would be pleased to show you around. We're located in a beautiful century old building on the main street of Creemore, ON, a charming village nestled between the Mad and Noisy rivers. A place where the air is clean, the birds sing and time goes by slowly.Tours Daily

We were just visiting small towns along the tourist trail and stumbled upon the brewery on the main street. Its quaint but has a very pleasant atmosphere with young staff who are very enthusiastic and cheerful wanting you to taste their varieties of beer. I generally do not drink large qty's, but they insisted I try their wooden paddle with 4-5 beers. I did and asked a lot of questions to which they replied with gusto and verve. I hardly could finish all the beers and felt guilty about it, but they willingly took it back with no qualms at all. I bought a few bottles of their special batch which are awesome!
Will definitely go back there again.

Great day of hiking. Scenery amazing and trails well groomed and marked clearly. Terrain can be difficult at times depending on your skillset but the views are well worth the trek.

Fernwood Farms and Market

Reviewed By sandra98walter - Ontario, Canada

Elected to give the Fernwood Farms and Market a try while enroute to Collingwood. First time visitor, Busy place on thanksgiving weekend. Number of activities on site for the kids, Ample parking onsite. Clean premises.
Take care when purchasing baked goods. No best before date. Cashier unable to answer question on freshness of pumpkin tarts and when they were made, no reference on package. Products are on the pricey side, $8.00 for 6 tarts.
Bottom line, second visit required to Fernwood Farms....to return product....product was tasteless and moisture detected in pastry which made it difficult to even pick tart up out of package. No issues from staff when requested refund.
Other market stands and bakeries in the area....hopefully have better luck than this one!

Great area for walking or biking or just sitting to enjoy a picnic. There is a food concession if you don't make a picnic from your own food. Not to much of a beach but great for those who can swim(I"M not one of those). Just wonderful to look out to the water and feel peace and relaxation!

Skull Island Mini Golf

Skull Island Miniature Golf is tropical paradise. The Pirates have been marooned on Skull Island and are guarding their treasures. Their ship can be boarded but be aware one of the pirates is not far away on his raft. The park is enclosed with beautiful murals of the Caribbean and music playing and palm trees swaying with a waterfall cascading into one of the pools. When you arrive at the eighteenth hole you may be lucky enough to be awarded the Pirates treasure if your aim be dead on.
