Salekhard (Russian: Салеха́рд; Khanty: Пуӆңават, Pułñawat; Nenets: Саляʼ харад, Salja’ harad - lit. house on a peninsula) is a town and the administrative center of Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Russia. It crosses the Polar circle, the main parts being about 1 kilometer (0.62 mi) south and suburbs stretching to the north of the circle. Population: 42,544 (2010 Census); 36,827 (2002 Census); 32,334 (1989 Census).

Стелла находится за границами города, мы добирались пешком от конечной остановки автобуса - идти около 10 минут по обочине, ветрено но терпимо.
Сама стелла - это условная граница Полярного круга, летом можно просто посидеть на лавочке, наслаждаясь полями вокруг, зимой, конечно не посидишь :)
Красиво подсвечивается вечером, но и днем привлекает внимание.
Так как в Салехарде не так много достопримечательностей, то Стеллу обязательно посетите :)

Definitely worth a visit, this is a larger museum than I expected, with well made exhibit rooms. We were a group of academics, so possibly with a longer attention span than average, but I think anybody interested in the regional culture and natural history will enjoy spending a couple of hours here. The museum's highlight is the mammoth section. We had a pretty good Russian-speaking guide and even though the need for interpretation slowed the pace a bit, it gave extra time for observing the items on display. Some of the rooms already have bilingual items descriptions and panels, and the overall impression is that the museum is being actively and caringly maintained and developed.

A small replica historical village. Worth a visit. Unclear what their operating hours are, as none of the buildings were open, but the entrance was wide open.

This can be visited travelling between the airport and town. If you have seen locomotives, then don't bother (unless you area junkie). I suppose the history of the railway line is interesting but you don't need to go to the locomotive for that.

Отличный, очень интересный и необычный памятник! Расположен около центра национальных культур, рядом с площадью Ленина. Официально называется "коренным малочисленным народам севера", но такое длинное название конечно никто не использует.

Скульптурная композиция установлена около ледового дворца. Два хоккеиста сцепились в схватке. Внешний вид у парней несколько странный, похожи на мутантов :(

Рядом со знаменитым мостом "Факел" в деревцах стоит северный олень. Статуя повернута в сторону реки, животное гордо так смотрит вдаль. На постаменте надпись:
В сказках древнего Ямала,
В песнях новых поколений -
Всюду словом благодарным
Люди чествуют оленей!
