Nížyn (Ukrainian: Ні́жин, Ukrainian pronunciation: [ˈnʲiʒɪn], Russian: Не́жин, Nezhin, Polish: Nieżyn) is a city located in Chernihiv Oblast (province) of northern Ukraine, along the Oster River, 150 km (93 mi) north-east of the nation's capital, Kiev. It is the administrative center of Nizhyn Raion, though the city itself is incorporated as a city of oblast significance and does not belong to the raion. Once it was a major city of the Chernigov Governorate.

church is very nice,traditional and well taken care of. I have visited it during small liturgy,with pop praying and old ladies Reading /singing.very nice atmosphere of local most important church of the city

This small landscaped park was founded by Chancellor Empire Alexander Graf Bezborodko. The attraction had nothing but great nature.

this small funny monument is near the road. locals will lead you there.it is not much to be expected (quality or size wise) but it is funny.still better is to buy famous Nizhynsky cucumber /dill pickles, or simply try anything dill from local cuisine (tomatoes,plums,garlic) it is delicious

A one-dome church, three-nave, one apse is a replica of the Byzantine architecture. It implemented in the 20s of the 18th century. On the north wall three marble plaques with Greek inscriptions which referred to Hesiod, John Karamanlis, and Ethaf Second and other. Interior closed for restoration

The church is located near the remains of the town wall. Now the largest market of the city begins here. Here there can be a small miracle - any product at a fair price.

Former prison castle was. In the late 18th century there was a prisoner Ustym Karmelyuk. During the Second World War - from 1941 to 1943 were SS. Now here is the mental hospital.

Музей редкой книги Нежинского госуниверситета расположен на втором этаже быв. здания Купеческого собрания, которое теперь занимает Фундаментальная библиотека университета. В основу библиотеки положено 2,5 тыс. томов личного собрания книг графа А. Кушелева-Безбородько, который был попечителем Гимназии высших наук, предшественницы нынешнего университета.

Monument to Ukrainian Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky was established in 1993 Because in an effort to attract Greek merchants to actively trade in Nizhyn , Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky in 1657 was give visa-free travel for them!

The Monument of People's Artist of Ukraine (mezzo – soprano) on the square her named after . She created the first permanent theater in the town. Native village with museum located 18 mi nearby.
