Absolutely gorgeous beach soft white sand, Very wide and long seems to go on forever plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas €10 for 2people for the day. Various restaurants cafes and bars along the front. Love the wooden walk way the length of the beach great for bikes, push chairs, wheel chairs, or just a lovely stroll. ☀☀

We first visted Alagoa in 1990, the beach is still very recognisable. We walked up from Manta Rota recently - a nice walk. The beach is serviced and is a nice place for families etc. We didn't get as far as checking out the restaurants but we were tempted. These expansive Beaches are amongst the best in the Algarve.

This is a great place! Fantastic long beach, the three's almost on the sand. Perfect for beach fun and long long beachwalks. Clean and nice.

We took an excursion with you in august, there were 6 passengers on the boat. Gentle scenic tour with wine and prawns. Music and commentary. Excellent value at 10 euros each.

lovely little town, that has been well looked after and all the restaurants have the same font, thats a nice touch. Slightly touristy in places but in true Portuguese style it does not get in the way, just relax enjoy the feel of the place.
Worth the visit and enjoy.

This castle, which played such an important role in the defense of Portugal from a possible invasion from Spain, has been sadly left in a state of abandonment. There is a good view of the white houses of the town below but inside the walls there isn't really much to see. We were here during a medieval fair and the central part was taken up by stands selling drinks and typical foods. At least the entry fee is cheap, less than 2 euros if I recall.

A group evening was arranged for a visiting sports team from the UK, so we joined the group of 150 people for a special evening of dinner and show.
What an absolute disaster.
A set menu was arranged for the group in advance, which we choose in advance of the evening, with a selection of red & white wines together with water on the tables.
1.) On arrival - there were not enough seats laid up for our group!
2.) one of the advance meal options was NOW NOT available - the chicken dish!
3.) service was lousy, not professional, rude, disinterested,
4.) the salmon as a main course was tasteless,
5.) the wine selection was very poor, and when we asked for a refill, it was VERY slow in coming,
6.) half our table was served, then after 10/15mins the other half was served! In other words it was impossible to eat all together!!!
7.) the show was ONLY average.
As we live in the Algarve, this would have been a brilliant opportunity for the Casino at Monte Gordo to pull out all the stops!
Therefore I would certainly NOT recommend this place for dinner and the show.
I did not go into the Casino as I was so disappointed with the meal and show.

Maybe it was closed for the winter which is understandable in February. It looked interesting and we may have gone in if it were open. Nice little village to explor4e and amazing views of the coast line. Check this small village out.
