Jarvzoo

A great little zoo. You walk along wooden boardwalks to view the different animal enclosures. All of the animals seemed content and no pacing like you see with animals at other zoos. The highlight for me were the four wolverines and the three wolf packs. The wolves were very curious and approached the fence to check us out. They had many different species of owls, a lynx, brown bears, etc. The Predator Center was attached to the entrance lobby of the zoo. Unfortunately for us all the sign descriptions were in Swedish, but I think that it was describing human-predator conflicts and how to resolve them. I'd definitely go back!

Fishing in the middle of Sweden at Wildlife Camp Angra, owned by host Marco Hasshold who is also your guide on trips into one of the few wildlands Europe still has, the B&B is excelent arranged, Aafke, the owners Partner is Cook and Co-Host, so it not only comes down to B&B but one can go for the full treat, and from own experience I can say Aafkes cooking is excelent, as if one would be at home, speaking of which... being at wildlife camp Angra gives you the opportunity to be guided to through the wildlife of Sweden, but also have the opportunity to do your own thing and stroll along the river, row on the lake or visit the local villages or the city of Ljusnan about 40 km away.
the location has several rooms available but also a fair campground wher you can go totaly basic if you would like that.
it is well worth a visit.

Sweden Husky Tours

Reviewed By sharonmc67 - Greenock

Once in a lifetime adventure. We loved this experience. Sledding through the forest. Tip: don't sit at the front of the sled! Also block your nose.
We were two families and Agneta from SWESCOT recommended we book the Fika Tour. On this tour we took turns to drive our own sled with 6 dogs, one is the musher and the other one sits in the sled, then you take turns with our daughter sitting in front of us. You weren’t cold sitting down because you had reindeer skins in the sled and a warm blanket over you. A guide always runs the first sled to show the way. Halfway we took a break for coffee/hot-chocolate and cake. The tour took 3 hours from arrival until we were back.
The unspoilt landscape is stunningly beautiful with extensive trails that are perfectly suited to dog sledding. As for the dogs, they are amazing - incredibly fit, super eager to run and very keen on cuddles. Feeding, harnessing, even poop scooping is an exciting part of the adventure. You go for an hour and traverse some land between gorgeous snow-covered forest which is exhilarating then go onto the frozen lake. All very magical.
The sledding was absolutely AWESOME - the sound of the sled gliding through the snow and the dogs panting (happily). When we stopped to switch drivers, there was plenty of time to take photos.
Loved every minute, as much as my 11-year-old daughter. They teach you how to drive sleds. The dogs are well looked after & as soon as they knew they were going to pull a sled they got very excited and noisy!!!
What an experience. Totally recommended. Scenery was surreal!!!
Would we do it again - YES!! absolutely.
