Pleasant uphill walk alongside a wooded gorge. There are no really steep parts of the path, but it is a fairly relentless steady rising path which includes steps and Bridges. Anyone with mobility problems should think carefully before going. Saying that, you can turn around at any point along the walk to return to the entrance, and there are several benches along the route. I have a bad back but I managed to walk almost to the waterfall by using waking poles, although my back was suffering a bit on the return journey. The walkways are quite narrow and not suitable for prams or small children.
The walk takes about an hour each way and takes you up a gorge with a river and woodland. The path is largely by wooden and steel walkways and steps. The scenery was pretty rather than dramatic but it was a pleasant change from the mountain scenery that surrounds Chamonix and it would be a useful trip to know about on a cloudy day when the Mountains lose their appeal!
The entrance fee includes reduced prices for "Seniors" and because there were no ages specified I declared myself a senior, at 62 years old and this was not questioned. I would never lie about my age but unless stated otherwise I have always assumed that concessions apply to 60+.
The gorge is well signed from the N205 junction 24, but it is worth noting the return directions using Google maps beforehand, as the return signings are poor. I decided to do just that before we left home so if it helps anyone these directions worked well.
TO RETURN TO N205 and Chamonix:
Turn right at bottom of gorge road.
Turn left at first cross roads where road surface turns pink!
Drive through village to roundabout, take 2nd exit (left) signed Le Fayet/Chamonix.
Straight on taking right bend signed Chamonix/St Gervais.
Under railway bridge and turn left.
Right over bridge signed Chamonix/Les Houches.
Keep left at fork signed Chamonix and join N205.

After months of uncertainty, with the restaurant closed and rumours of no re-opening this year, the restaurant is open again as of today. With only 2 weeks notice, and us arriving more than an hour before opening time, this review is based on potential.
The new management is charming, helpful, and full of ideas and ambition. Hopefully the Commune de Passy, owners of the facility, will provide the resources to allow them to make a success of this wonderful location.
We look forward to being impressed when we next visit.

Pleasant little Church on the way to Tre de la tete Glacier. You pass this as toy aproach the main access route up the mountain toward Nant Borrant. Great range of hiking and the walk to Lac Jovet is special, well worth the hike.

Hidden up windy road and very uncommercialised. Various goats llamas etc and marmots...although the weather was appalling when we were there so didn't see them, they were snug sleeping in their massive house. Lovely walks around the park and friendly staff.

Truly remarkable. From the tunnel to the town to the mountain, everything is amazing. Well designed to ensure visitors are safe and can appreciate the views. Well worth the excursion even if you only have a few hours.
Two tips
1. The weather at the top is NOT as cold as you would expect. It did not feel like -22. Dress warm but don’t obsess.
2. Don’t assume the wether at the top based upon the weather at the base. The summit is above the cloud line so the views are amazing. Our visit had significant clouds at 2-3000m. It only added to the view from 3,800m.

Wonderful train ride up the side of the mountain. Get off at the top, take a short hike to the edge of the glacier to have our picnic lunch looking up at Mount Blanc. Then short hike back take the train ride back down the mountain.Took tons of photos......
I'll do it again. Highly recommeneded.

From Chamonix (1035m), fly over the forest to reach le Plan de l’Aiguille in 10 minutes (2317m). On your right, the Glacier des Bossons, in front of you the Mont-Blanc (4810m), on your left the Aiguille Verte, the Drus and the Aiguilles de Chamonix. Then take a second cable car which, in just 10 minutes takes you up to 3777m, over the seracs, the glacier des Pelerins and the hanging glaciers on the north face of the Aiguille du Midi. . As I set off in the first cable car I remembered how terrified I am of heights and very quickly realised this was going to be a real adventure.
I got to the top and thought I was going to faint but slowly got going and pushed myself to walk round and see the amazing views.
I am so glad i did as it was something so beautiful and beyond anything I am ever likely to see again.
Worth it and I would even do it again

Telepherique de Bellevue is one of cable cars which can be used with summer pass. It ends in 1794 meters where is a stop of Tramway du Mont Blanc. Its possible to make a hike to Mont Carmet (2115 meters)...better view of Les Houches and valley, Mont Blanc, Glacier de Bionnassay.

Because of the high level of snow fall before and during our stay, the Brevant was only open so you could take pictures of the views, we could not stay up there as nothing was open. Hope we have better luck next year.
