Cagsawa Ruins Park

Reviewed By sabi0james - Manila, Philippines

The history of the ruins is already an attraction in itself. This recent visit was extra special given that the Mayon was currently erupting, though during our visit it was spewing just a few ash columns into the atmosphere. The park offers a great vantage point to view the majestic volcano. Souvenir shops and small eateries can be found inside the park complex.

Vera Falls

Reviewed By tyra143

If you are in bicol/albay you must visit vera falls. You may hire a private van to get there :) roads are small though and it's far from the main road. Really far. But its so worth it! When you reach the "parking lot"
You have to go down about 100 steps until you reach the beautiful falls. The water is ice cold but so clean and clear. The caretaker there asks you to write you name in his log book then u may pay a small "donation" maybe only like 30pesos. Cheap!! I suggest you to bring your own drinks and snacks. :)

I did not realize that this hill looking like a Bohol Chocolate Hill located between the airport and Mayon Volcano is a prehistortic cinder cone (volcano)....there is an entrance fee, just Php 25.00 and the way up via a winding road is shaded in greenery...the view of the city of Legazpi, the rice fields and Mayon Volcano is great.....

This is the most scenic Ayala Mall as you can have a perfect view of the Mayon Volcano. There are several restaurants to dine as well as milk tea house and donuts shops.
You can also find other shops that sells dress, cinema and supermarket.
Easy to find as the jeepney is passing by along the area.

Pacific Mall

Yes there are biggish cities without an SM mall. Legaspi city is one. Convenient for commuters and car-owners. Supermarket, department stores, National bookstore, etc. Within walking distance are the bus and van terminals, the local market, a small inn (2nd floor) just at the bldg across- with a Watson's pharmacy and restaurants on the 1st floor (one is Erin's cafe where you can enjoy shisha and the best baby back ribs in the province). Also nearby is the best halo-halo I've enjoyed (DJC). Plenty of free parking adjacent to them.

Albay Park and Wildlife

Reviewed By Kastiel - Quezon City, Philippines

The park has improved from it's previous dilapidated state however, I can't believe the government spent billions on the renovation. They added a bit more attraction such as the moving dinosaur statues and some nice new buildings. The facade changed too. But Billions of pesos is too much to soend on such minor renovation.

Penaranda Park

The Penaranda Park (Freedom Park) is a plaza dedicated to the first Governor of Albay, Jose Ma. Penaranda who served from 1834-1840. Following the traditional style of Spanish-type plazas, the Park is surrounded by administrative and religious institutions, most notably the Albay Capitol, the Legazpi City Hall, and the St. Gregory the Great Cathedral.

It's lively in the evening and quite peaceful in the morning. It's located in front of Legazpi city hall and walking distance from fastfood chains and Hotel Villa Angelina. You can also cross the street to McDonald's and ride a jeep to Daraga from here.
It also gives you a nice view of Mt. Mayon.

Embarcadero

Reviewed By Ginalyn1922

We went there to eat after our visit to cagsawa but to our dismay it seemed that the place was just good at night-- not in the morning or afternoon.
We just satisfied ourselves with picture takings on the embarcadero sign and at the side of the beach overlooking Mayon.
But anyway the guards are very helpful and very knowlegeable as they were able to instruct us to find our way back to the hotel.
