We decided to do a canoe paddle after visiting Dordogne area many times and just looking at the rivers. We decided on Canoeric after seeing other reviews. They use the Vezere (more narrow less traffic)instead of the Dordogne (wider, more traffic but views of Castles). We did bring some shoes that could get muddy if we needed to step in something to get out of the river. Not a problem. We were all alone on the river (late May) for our entire trip of about an hour and a half. On a warm morning we could stay in the shade of the trees on the bank if needed. The river was running fast enough that we didn't need to paddle at all if we didn't want to. Still a very peaceful ride. There is sufficient parking at the site. They are located in an amusement area just on the outskirts of Le Bugue (not too far from Les Ezyies). The staff was great. Launched us from the bank after we agreed on a pickup time downstream. They said to call if we needed more time. The end point was well marked in a grassy area which in our case was a little ways past the intersection with the Dordogne river. There are many options for distance and pick up points if you are more adventurous. We were shown pictures of the landmarks to watch for so we didn't make a wrong turn. Easy and we are a 70 year old couple and my wife doesn't like to get wet but no problem....The van picked us up as agreed. The ride back was along the river as well. Nice experience to participate a little instead of just looking all the time...

Surely one of the best cave visits on the the Vezere, and undoubtedly the biggest. Be prepared for some serious theatre as you walk through the virtual pitch black to a platform looking down over the cave and watch in wonder as a small metal cage descends from the ceiling providing an experience for the first discoverers of this cave in 1907. Now brilliantly lit and with sound show. Wonderful crystal covered stalactites.

Very easy to do the booking over the internet, and to have the bikes delivered and collected at agreed times. Our road bikes (Lapierre) were excellent, well maintained and great to ride. The best bit was the local knowledge and advice Robert gave us on where best to see the Tour de France, local routes and sites to see. The colour map and routes Robert gave us was better than the IGN map I had with me. No need to bring your own tubes, tools, pumps, spare tyres ets - Robert provides the lot. Highly recommended.

Disappointed for the entrance fee but there are some nice aspects. The village is lovely and overall we would have preferred longer doing that. Can't help but compare these Gardens with those in other parts of France and other countries. Not any resemblance to those of the National Trust and the RHS nor of Monets garden for example. Pleasant nonetheless. The different views of the bee hive are good. Great views down over the river and its confluence with the Vezere. The large mirror provides an interesting aspect in a garden. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

nice and well kept chateau and Gardens, free entry, free parking. maze is being grown. nestled in a small village with restaurant. also from the chateau you can access a rock cave up its hill, and climb to the top for great views.

The history and buildings are well worth the visit, it is difficult to get around unless you have a hired vehicle as there are no organised bus tours from Sarlat, we were lucky enough for the B and B owner to lend us his.
All the little vallages surrounding are very interesting.

We had picked 3 caves to go too, and this was one of them. We weren't disappointed. They allow only a limited number of people to visit at a time, but well worth it. You purchase your tickets at Font de Gaume and then it is just a few kilometers away. Amazing cave paintings to see. Highly recommend.

Brilliant. All 5 of us thoroughly enjoyed cooking together and learning about some of the local produce. Run by a lovely English family. The choice of dishes to cook was perfect and even though it stretched two of my daughters, they are now willing to try different foods which is a bonus. Thank you

Wonderful cave with stalactite formations I've never seen before elsewhere, very beautiful. You visit on a halfhour tour, which was conducted in French with an accompanying English guide seat. Photographs are allowed without flash, and there's ample lighting in the cave for a cameraphone.

They have recreated a French village from pre First World War period. Comprehensive range of steam powered and horse powered farm instruments. Demonstrations of bread baking, walnut oil pressing, blacksmith and working windmill. Antique funfair rides and stalls plus mechanical horse rides which provided amusement for all thr family.
