Schlossberghohlen Homburg

Reviewed By Michael E - Kaiserslautern, Germany

My friend and I decided to go visit Homburg, and explore the castle ruins on top of the hill. We then walked down, and entered the sandstone caves/mines. The castle ruins on top of the hill cover a large area, and are very interesting. One sad thing is that the locals have had problems with broken bottles, and trash scattered all over the area along with some graffiti. I still found the ruins very interesting, and enjoyed exploring the grounds.
We then went down to the caves which for €5 is a great bargain. In the old days they mined the caves for a special sand for making clear glass. It was lost for hundreds of years until it was uncovered by some playing children. I enjoyed the short tour we received, and the free time we were allowed to enjoy walking the rest of the caves.
Great outing if you are looking for some history, and the caves give you something different to checkout. I truly enjoyed them both, and will take others there.
Afterward we stopped at the hotel for coffee, and wine. The hotel has a great view of the city, and countryside so I thought that it was well worth the stop.

The Style outlets

As an out-of-town factory shop place, this is a nice place for a walk. Clean toilets, some free wifi, but still the usual range of shops. A sale lost in the Lindt shop as the staff couldn't focus on serving.
Glad to get away.
Wont be back.

Great for older kids! I really liked the various ways they've made the experience interactive using technology! older kids loved it, some of our younger ones were a bit frightened at times. I guess that shows how realistic they've made some of the scenes!

It's a very good adventure Park for kids and adults. There are different difficult levels, with exciting parcours. The staff is friendly and you get everything explained in English. You can spend a whole day, climbing in the trees, or hiking in the nearby forest. Along the lake there's a nice walking trail and a good Italian restaurant.
Groups all ages are welcome.

Stadtsblumengarten Bexbach

We wandered in from the adjacent excellent stellplatz camping for Motorhomes expecting just some pleasant floral Gardens. As well as flowers and trees there is a mock road layout for teaching children how 1to safely ride bikes. There was a large grass area for games and what looked like an interesting museum. To the right of the museum is a huge globe that can be turned and then winding paths to take you past large scale models of sights around the world such as Englands Big Ben and Paris Eiffel Tower which must have been around 7 metres high. Car parking looked to be free and so was entry to the Gardens. Worth an hour or so of your time.

Neunkircher Zoologischer Garten

Reviewed By Joey_3009

This is a small zoo that is not too impressive. The animals seems malnourished especially the Elephant that looked underweight. Not many animal options, other than your usual Elephants, monkeys, birds, deer, snow leopard, rodents, and reptiles.
It's one of those zoos that once you've visited it one time, that's all you need.
I only give it a 3 out of 5 because, the price is decent and the staff was friendly.
