Costanera de Formosa

Reviewed By Gene J - Silver Spring, Maryland

We took a taxi(90 Ap) from the Terminal de Ómnibus 3km to the Cathedral, finding it closed. We walked 300 meters further to the Regional Historical Museum, finding it under renovation, then stopped in the Government House, with little to see. Nearing the port, we found activity with people sitting along the river viewpoint watching the ferry's cross to nearby Paraguay. This was the beginning of the lovely 2km Costanera that follows the river's curve with trees and nicely spaced park benches. At one point we looked across the highway to a large "Last Supper" sculpture.
This is a perfect walkway for a late afternoon stroll in this very hot humid environment.

Reviewed By miss_saigonlondon - London, United Kingdom

My daughter (5) loves animals and nature. A friend recommended Formosa Receptiva for their tours. Despite my last minute call they were able to accomodate our request. Well organised, not too formal, unrushed, helpful and informative, we went to Herradura (around 40km away). We went to explore the lagoon & surroundings. We saw monkeys, birds, etc. Nature at its best. Juan was specially great with my daughter (& his English was good as he lived in NZ). We finished the excursion at their Campo where we saw some more animals and had a great tea with homemade bread and chipa. We had a lot of fun. A great option for those visiting the city.

this is not a museum, it is a shop in a good old house. Look for the attendant who knows about the tribes and communities. Very nice woven art crafts made by Wichis, Qom and Tobas.
