I don’t understand other reviewers complaining about the difficult access tand at the same time the excess number of tourists on the beach! One should be prepared to put some effort to get to a hidden exotic gem rated as the world’s best beach which understandably won’t be readily available at your doorstep.
When my friend and I were there, we were the only people on the beach and it was surreal! It was February, just after the rain, still very hot and the wet weather didn’t stop us from going down the metal steps between the cliffs. The natural surroundings are absolutely gorgeous, same goes for the water and the best part was the lack of people. Absolutely thrilled with this beach and won’t ever forget the experience!

We stopped here while on tour in the island with our guide. It's a beautiful view but the ocean is just too strong for regular swimming. If you don't surf, you might just be better off watching the suffers and tanning. Still, it's a must see. There are good places for lunch nearby.

Perfect crescent beach in spectacular setting with full-on view of Pico. Sand is silken and perfectly clean. Water is warm and turquoise and perfectly clear. The walk down rocky roads beats the line up to squeeze down the ladders to Sancho, which, in our opinion, is not as beautiful. Plus, Bar de Maio at the far end is a perfect place to have a drink, bite to eat and view of the sunset. Watch out for the big waves when the surf is up!

This beach is really great to go diving, we even saw baby sharks in the shore. It is great for seeing turtles. One piece of advice, if you go with small children, hire a guide and they will take the children while you dive! The sea is quite rough on certain days, make sure you go on a clear day with good weather to improve visibility.

We visited the site 5 times during our 7 day visit. There was an ocean surge for many of these days so the Dolphins did not show up. On one day all was Ok in the ocean and they showed up. 270+. What a site to behold. A must see. Local personnel that study the Dolphins were very informative.

Well I really love this beach on Brazilian summer which starts on December, you can see lots os turtles. Do not go on the middle of the year, the water is not good at this time of the year. You have to hire a guide to swim with you, but they need to organize, as the "smartest ones" do not respect the line and cross that, so you have to wait long to go.

If you happen to be there one afternoon you will watch a regular sunset, without surprises. If you're running out of time, don't bother, you're not missing a lot.

Beautiful sponsored project, but by the looks of it Petrobras, the main sponsor, has too much of its resources tied-up in the major fraud investigation it is under at the moment.
The exhibits are run-down, the signs are not updated, and the place definitely needs some maintenance and up-keep.
Don't get me wrong, they do a wonderful job protecting the turtles, but with a major sponsor like Petrobras, you would think their infrastructure would be a million times better.
It seems to me all Petrobras is contributing towards are the company logo signs the biologists display, every time they are in action looking after a turtle. As a matter of fact, it is nearly impossible to take a photo without snapping a darn "Petrobras" sign along with it.
Disappointed to say the least.

The beach is huge and empty, not far from souewest beach access. Turtles lay their eggs here as it is a huge beach. The currents and waves can be strong so be careful, on rough days good swimmers and or life jacket recommended. It is almost empty and goes on for a long way, perfect for a remote, beautiful, beach time...

although it might not be the most beautiful landscape (it is a port) the ocean flora is great.
I went there on my first day at 6 am and the water was cristal clear and full of life.
There might be small sharks there, but they run away as soon as you enter the water so don't freak out.
