It is located in the mesoregion of the Vale do Rio Doce and microregion of Ipatinga and is situated 200 km from the capital. The municipal population was estimated in 2016 by IBGE in 109,857 inhabitants, thus the 28th most populous in the Minas Gerais state. The area is 221.252 km² (13.1549 km² of urban area).

This is one of the most modern and comfortable theatres I have been. Its acoustic is fantastic. I attended to a jazz concert and it was absolutely fabulous. I recommend it.

Teatro com excelente espaço e acomodações confortáveis. Possui equipamentos e estrutura necessária para as apresentações. Porém, dependendo da época do ano, fica um cheiro muito forte de mofo. Ótimo opção para laser com a familía.

Nice fields, very open but with need more shade. Great kid park, playground with small swing, slides and a sandbox. Small enough to keep track of multiple kids at the same time. Good places for picnics, they have picnic benches. For those who just want to take a stroll, there are flat trails and paved roads. The place is lovely with pretty views.

A Serra dos Cocais goza de excelentes atrações naturais, como belas paisagens, córregos, cachoeiras, mirantes, pequenos lagos e clima agradável de montanha. O lugar é ideal para quem gosta de explorar lugares bonitos, seja de carro (muitos deles acessíveis a veículos 4x2), moto, bicicleta, a cavalo ou até mesmo para quem gosta de se aventurar em trilhas à pé. Infelizmente nas últimas décadas a agricultura familiar que predominava na região foi sendo lentamente substituída pelo cultivo de eucalipto, o que alterou um pouco a vista é características da região, mas ainda assim, continua muito bonita e vale a pena conhecer!

A good place to find refuge in this small town if you need retail therapy. The mall was recently updated and has a good variety of stores. The supermarket inside is very clean, modern, and provides for an excellent source for groceries.

Good for family with kids to spend the day and have a picnic. Playground and a pond with fish. Nice for a stroll with paved areas.

Lugar extremamente bonito e possui uma vista maravilhosa! Vale a pena conhecer. Pena que os próprios usuários depredam o lugar. Recentemente foi retirada a corda que era utilizada como corrimão e algumas pessoas soubem com motos um lugar que deveria subir a pé, causando grandes valetas e estragando a escada. Mesmo assim, vale a pena o lugar.

The waterfall is beautiful but there are too many constructions around. The river course was also changed. The place was not clean. Loud and drunk people listening music loud disturbing the natural environment.
