Chitose Shikotsu Lake Hyoto Matsuri

Boasting extraordinarily clear waters, Lake Shikotsu is known as the northernmost lake in Japan which does not freeze over in winter. The clear lake water is sprayed through sprinklers to create the unique art objects displayed throughout the venue, including the Lake Bottom Aquarium, Hyoto Shrine, and Ice Slider. The various art objects sparkle a frozen blue during the daytime, and are illuminated in an array of colors at night. Visitors can also enjoy events such as fireworks displays and Japanese drum concerts. The shop inside the venue sells "Hyoto Candies," an original creation for the festival, and there are a number fine hot springs here and there in the area around the venue.

Royce' Chocolate World

Reviewed By cbarenillo - Metro Manila, Philippines

Based on experience, I must say this is the ultimate amongst all the Royce' shops (after visiting Japan 3x). Reasons below: 1) All varieties are available. From flavour to the mini sizes. I haven't seen any mini sizes in other shops. 2) Packaging is almost perfect (of course, Japanese way) 3) Can be educational because of the automated chocolate factory right beside the shop. 4) Located at the airport mall - best to be visited as soon as you arrive or before departure. Highly recommended.

New Chitose Airport Observation Deck

Reviewed By mandagoes - Beijing, China

If u rush into the international departure you may find it boring, just 1 parapharmacies to grab an eye-drop. Surprise but no bookstore at all. HOWEVER, there's a total different world on the other side of domestic departure. Hokkaido cheese n dairy products, Royce Chocolate World(well, first-time-ever to know that Royce is not just a fresh-cholocate band...chocolate is part of it. Try Royce bakery and thank me later;b ) Not a genuine Doraemon, Hello Kitty, yet I'm so drawn to these dreamy decos, scenes, products, and design...you name it.
