The Coast Province (Swahili: Mkoa wa Pwani) of Kenya, along the Indian Ocean, was one of Kenya's eight provinces. It comprises the Indian Ocean coastal strip with the capital city at Mombasa and was inhabited by the Mijikenda and Swahili, among others. The province covered an area of 79,686.1 km² and would have had a population of 3,325,307 in 2009.

I stayed 3 days in Lumo Community Wildlife Sanctuary and Taita Hills wildlife sanctuary. The landscape of the park is beautiful and varied; it is mainly savannah with some bushy areas surrounding waterholes. The fauna is exceptionnal. In the sanctuary park, during safaris,we have seen: - a female cheetah with 4 5-months old cubs, that were very playful. - female lions with cubs - black-backed jackals - huge families of elephants with a lot of babies - other mammals, e.g.: zebras, buffalos, waterbucks, hartebeests, warthogs… - a lot of birds. Taken together, I definetely recommend to visit Lumo Community Wildlife Sanctuary and Taita Hills wildlife sanctuary

Spent 4 nights and 5 days with Mama Savana in African Safari. Visited Tarangire, Central and Northern Serengeti, Ngorongoro crater. All are unique with their nature and wild life. It was my best African safari ever. We saw all big fives and one African Civet in the day time very close to our car. Our driver cum guide Joseph is young and energetic. He has in depth knowledge about wildlife, birds and nature. We enjoyed every moment of it. Mama savana is a very professional company leaded by Alex. Thanks Mama Savana to make the safari memorable.

Surrounded by the Clean and white sandy Watamu beach and nestled in the marine reserve it has unique coral reef garden and rich with turtles, cute fishes making it perfect for snorkeling or glass bottom boat rides.

The adventure starts from the “wobbly” boardwalk as you balance yourself as you walk till the end, this was such a thrill Board your canoe here and the calm ocean gently rocks you to the creek, if the tide & water level is low you can get off at garden of eden to catch the sunset as the water turns to a shimmery gold, such a sight to behold! If you’re adventurous you can kayak, stand up paddle boarding or float around the mangroves in the creek experiencing it all and hopefully see some birds hunting in the shallow waters. We used a local guide who was very informative & affordable.

Watamu Beach especially near Fortamu is a paradise. Beautiful white sand beach where you can walk freely and enjoy the spectacular view. During high tides you can enjoy the water that is giving the sensation of a warm bathtub. I spent a wonderful week! Definitively a place to visit in Kenya.

Such serenity, simply breathtaking. Great and expansive National park with many beautiful birds, large and small, and other land animals such as elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, lions, heartbeets, dikdiks, gazelles etc. It's worth the visit. Those drives in the park are thrilling if not therapeutic! Highly recommended.

Bio-Ken is a research centre, which deals with reptiles, especially snakes and snake-bite. Located less than 5 minutes drive from the hotels in Watamu - Kenya, it houses the largest collection of Snakes in East Africa and is open to the public. There are about 127 different snake species in Kenya. Of these only 18 have caused human fatalities and only another 6 could kill you. Another 10 could cause you a lot of pain and the remaining 93 or so, are non-venomous nor dangerous.

The Snake Farm worth a visit. It will not take long ( 1 hour maybe?) but you will get lots of info some very curious others maybe useful in the future who knows ? We had a friendly and smiling guide who take us around the farm and showed us tons of snakes of different species ( some among the most poisonous ones like the green mambas) explaining us where they live, how they live, how dangerous they are and how you can survive a bite. You can touch a snake if you like ..but do not have to ! Especially with kids it is a place not to be missed ! The entrance fee is not the cheapest one but they use the money to work with snakes, collecting the poison and preparing the antidotes. And removing snakes from houses or hotels in case one "got lost "and goes around a lodge ! They simply pick it up and bring it back to the forest ( hopefully far enough not be back the day after !)

Spent a very enjoyable 4 hours birding the site with Michael who works as a bird guid at Nguuni.. Its defiantly worth a visit to enjoy the walk and encounters with the giraffes that wander the site.
