Family winery, with long tradition of wine making. Known mosty for fresh, white wines such as Sylvaner, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Muscat, Pinot gris, etc. For the last 7 years, we can welcome you on our property, where you can taste our wines and enjoy 5 or 6 course menus (if prearranged) in a nice and relaxing atmosphere. Gaube estate is known by wine production for several years and 3 family generations. The estate is located in a wonderful špičnik area, very near famous heart shaped road in the vineyards. The house is surrounded by nice yard where you can enjoy the view to vineyards and wonderful nature. In tja last years the family developed the culinary services offered to the guests with excelent wines. In 2020 they were selected in 10 best tourist farm estetes in slovenia and after this visit we saw that it was more than deserved. You choose 3 or 4 course menu with choice of the main dish with fish or meat. All dishes were served in beautiful handmade pilates and tasted real good. We were able to choose several desserts and we tried everything. You could not decide which one was the best because all of the desserts were simpy great. Highly recommended for a superior culinary experience in beautiful place where family "touch" can be felt every minute of your visit.

We really enjoyed our wine tasting today. Irina, the owner of the vineyard, did an amazing job explaining the different wines they produce and sell. The homemade snacks were just delicious and together with the stories she told made an unforgettable experience. She even prepared some homemade juice for our kids. Outstanding hospitality! Highly recomended!!!

The most beautiful walking place by the river Savinja,with benches for rest or observing trees,river...for children with bikes,rollerblades,for mom's and babies. Playground st the end of park, very safe. Very nice.

A must see in the Solkan valley. The whole place with the monastery, the church, the surroundings is oozing with serenity. The views over the extremely beautiful Slovenian landscape is stunning. It is a Franceskan monastery in "full working order" with active brothers. There is a restaurant, but opening times unknown to me. When we visited in July it was closed during daytime. Maybe open on Sundays. The monastery also has a museum which is open on Sundays in conjunction with the mass. From Nova Gorica it's a mere 20 min ride by car to get uphill. Bus is also available to Grgar, if you'd like to hike up the last 2-3 km. Must see if you're in the Gorizia/Nova Gorica area!
