Well worth the trip to see a good range of rare Swedish Armour as well as many items of foreign armour used by Sweden. The museum consolidates the collections of a number of organisations to present a comprehensive overview of Swedish armour through the ages, and the display is modern, well laid out with vehicles easy to access from a number of angles. Photography is welcomed and there is a small gift shop and cafe attached. The staff were welcoming and informative. There is also a display of local regimental history and an extensive display of model figures. A must see for any fan of armour, especially if you are looking for rare items.

Sormlands Museum

Dear visitors, Due to Covid-19 we are closing the exhibitions and other programs at the moment. This concerns both the museum at Tolagsgatan 8 and Kungstornet at Nykopingshus. The restaurant and giftshop are still open. It’s a sad decision to take but we all have to follow on regulations and guidance from the Public Health Agency of Sweden. Our webbsite is always updated about any changes. Sormlands museum is a regional museum for the county of Sormland. Here you can visit several exhibitions, take part in workshops in art and Craft, enjoy a lunch or dinner in the restaurant or maybe a cup of coffee outside in the Museum's park. There is always something for all ages and interests. Welcome!
