Took my 13 year old Nephew quad biking for a birthday treat! He had a fantastic time. The staff were all very helpful and friendly from Davina who booked us in and Jen on the desk to the instructors, Jamie who gave excellent safety briefing. Jody and his Son were very patient and gave my nephew who’s first time on a quad a brilliant experience in a beautiful place, he wants to know when he can go again. Thanks to everyone at Wildpark and those behind the scenes. Sarah and Jake x

Just walked out of Pipes in the Peak, having listened to Phil Kelsall (principal organist at Blackpool Tower) for two hours. I’m up in the air. What an organist, what technique, and what a fantastic organ to perform on. An enormous credit to Mr D Thorp ( the owner) who fulfilled his dream! Not just a Crompton organ, but a piece of magic with added extras. It’s a must for anyone to visit. A glass of wine, coffee and biscuits, an incredible afternoons entertainment. All for £12. Never mind the surrounding countryside as an added bonus. This is the best attended “organ” venue in the U.K. , and I can’t recommend it highly enough. (I’m a semi pro musician, have been for the last 50 years, so I’ve got a good ear)!

Can’t thank Guy and Les enough for making us feel so welcome we had the best time! The mixed bag shooting was excellent!! Stef was a great entertaining instructor and we all got the hang of the various activities under his watch! I think we’ve all come away with a love of cross bows and rifles! The accommodation was super cute and had everything we needed! The shower/toilet block had plenty of space even with 14 girls trying to get ready for a night out at the Lighthouse Restaurant up the road. The summerhouse kitchen had everything we needed, and the bbq hut (with its ready laid fire) was perfect for the end of the night. We had an absolute blast and I’m trying to think up more reasons to come back and stay again!

Equatorial

Equatorial is THE go-to place for fabulously funky, fair trade clothing, bags, trinkets, accessories, embroideries and loads more! We travel the world to bring you the best in ethnic chic. With our friendly staff, chilled atmosphere and great music, this is a fun shopping trip for all; the toddlers, tiddlers, grannies and grandpas, wide awake students, weary mums and dads, glammed up shoppers, muddy walkers, the dog, the cat and the kitchen sink! First time venturers of the shop will often describe us as a 'tardis' or 'alladdins cave'... Why not come and see for yourself!

Absolutely amazing little place (both Ashbourne and Matlock Bath! Full of beautiful treasures, ethically sourced, fairly priced and awesome quality. The staff always go above and beyond to brighten your day, from the signs on the door when you enter to the warm welcome from happy, quirky people (and even sometimes a four-legged friend!). I truly can not recommend this place enough if you’re into unique decor, materials and jewellery. Definitely a winner ????????

What a wonderful afternoon! Myself, sister, mum and neice attended a workshop this afternoon making planters with personality. It was a treat from my sister to us all. Fabulous fun doing something different, especially after the year we have all had so far with covid 19 and lockdown. Really enjoyable and a great experience. Felt very safe with appropraliate measures in place so no need to worry. .All materials and tools were provided. Even a great cup of tea part way through. Great teacher to keep us all on the right track and to help if needed. Would highly recommend for an afternoon of fun for a family group or group of friends. Excellent value and can't wait to see the finished results once they are fired.

This bar has found a really clever niche when compared to most U.K. bars, it’s a shop at the front for bottled beers and gins with the back of the shop a large bar where you can get a beer on tap. It’s got a good range of beers, a few wines and bubbles. What I particularly liked was free tea or coffee for a designated driver, a nice touch. It feels more like a beer cafe rather than an out and out bar, nice and informal with a very warm welcome from the owners. I’m a big beer drinker and instead of the usual pints of familiar beers, I had a few halves of beers I hadn’t heard of before. I was visiting Ashbourne to see my girlfriend’s family, I wish there was a bar like this in Birmingham. Clever idea, Good luck to them!

This pub was only about two and a half mls from where we were staying at the Carsington Wood caravan park and was reccomended to us and we therfore would do the same. We had a great meal there, so much so we went again the second night. The food was great quality and value, the staff were all friendly and welcoming, we even got introduced to Margaret the chef, she was lovely. We had been away from home aprox 3 weeks when we arrived near Ashbourne and these were the best meals we had in that time. Give it a try if you are in the area. We did pre book as during Covid think you should.
