Visited the Volvo museum back in March 2020 - just before Covid got bad. The museum itself is a bit outside Gothenburg so a taxi / Uber may be needed if not driving. The museum is absolutely fascinating, and the collection of both historic and modern Volvo cars is seriously impressive, as well as concept cars. I can highly recommend

This is a very interesting attraction in the centre of Gothenburg. We were able to visit a navel destroyer,a submarine and several other ships. The submarine was the highlight of our visit. The cost is reasonable and it was a lovely way to pass a couple of hours.

The Radio Museum

The museums area of more than 900 m² is filled with various types of radio equipment. The exhibition covers over the whole range of equipment from crystal receivers to luxurious stereo cabinets, televisions, and of course portable car radio equipment. The TV section has 'do-it-yourself' kits from ELFA, from the time when it was cheaper to build your own TV than to buy it. It also includes the famous nylon stocking, which was rumored to convert a black and white TV into a color TV! AGA's classic and elegant corner TV in hardwood is also included in the collection. Radio communication between vessels at sea and land bases has been important ever since time of Titanic, both for safety at sea and for contact between seaman and their relatives at home. Equipment for telegraphers at sea and the complete base station that was used at the Gothenburg Radio Station, a complete radio from MS Stena Gothica and different types of lifeboat radios - all this exhibited at the Radio Museum. People who served military service as radio operators or technicians will appreciate the large number of Swedish military radios in the Military Radio section, and there are English, American, German and Russian radios to compare with. The unique radio transmitters that where mounted in English Liberator areoplans are also on display. The area of land mobile radio with mobile phones is a new area that shows the development within the area of telephone and professional communication.

This is a lovely place to spend a couple of hors and learn about Swedish history and culture. The images of the Viking ship are very good as is the area devoted to Gothenburg and how it evolved over the centuries. It is very reasonable to enter and well worth a visit.

Roda Sten Konsthall

Röda Sten Konsthall is a unique place for contemporary art, located in an old boiler central right beneath the Älvsborgs Bridge. Here you’ll experience exhibitions, workshops, programs and shows, but also food, drinks and music. Outside of the house there’s a legal graffiti wall and from the restaurant you have a stunning view over Göta Älv. Welcome to Röda Sten Konsthall!

It's a bit hard to find but once you are there the great exhibtions as well as the amazing place will soak you in. I also was there for an event which collected many people from Gothenburgs art scene and showed Röda Sten's great standing in the local scene.
