Comfortable beds, great shower, good location. Carol was very accommodating and got up on the Bank Holiday Monday (October 28) to serve us breakfast at 7:00am. We booked in the evening before and told her that we had to leave early in the morning to make the tide to sail back to Fenit. Carol had a great breakfast and a pot of coffee ready before 7:00 and to top it all off she gave us coffee to go.

Quaint country house

Reviewed By Ann L

Lovely quaint house in the country. The room and bathroom were large, everything was comfortable and homely - nice informal rural atmosphere with friendly dogs and cats around. Kamla the hostess was friendly and helpful, there was a beautifully presented breakfast, and we had a lovely chat. In the evening she left the house and rescued me when Google maps got me lost - weather conditions were bad and internet was disturbed. In fact the house is only a few kms from Midleton. It was a terrific experience and I would be delighted to stay again whenever I might be in the area

A let down

When I booked this b&b I done what most people do read the reviews I was travelling down to do a basket weaving coarse and would be out all day when I arrived I was offered a cup of tea and cake which I thought was nice the cake was wrapped in cling film and it was hard not wanting to complain I said nothing. I asked the lady what time breakfast was at she said whatever time you want I don’t do it I’ll leave everything out. So the next morning I went for breakfast there was tea toast cornflakes the milk I used on the cornflakes it’s sell by date was almost up .On the second day it was slightly better the milk had been changed .Yes the lady that runs it is a nice person but there’s not much effort on the photos of her property it clearly shows a photo of a cooked breakfast the reviews are a few years old and things have changed .The rooms are clean

The rooms looked freshly updated and beds were very comfy. Breakfast was fabulous. Cheese patter, fruit, bread assortment, yogurt, and granola were just some of the options. Very friendly and helpful staff. Pizza was delicious for dinner after a long day on the road. Would definitely recommend this facility

Fantastic Stay!

Reviewed By bonniegirl08

Stayed in Dundrum House Hotel self-catering houses in July. I didn’t know the house was under renovation which was a pity as it looked beautiful and seemingly it has been like that for about 2 years as there was a fire there. We didn’t get off to the best start – I booked via Booking.com as I couldn’t get a booking direct with the hotel and the booking was confirmed by booking.com so you assume everything is ok. As we had booked two houses and had quite abit of food and drink my friend said she would just phone the hotel to see if there was a possibility of one of the houses being ready so we can put things in the fridge etc. A lady called Dolores answered the phone and said she had just tried to phone me and there was no booking for us!! My friend said she most certainly hadn’t phoned me but Dolores was insistent that she had and that I had told her I had no booking. It turned out and what are the chances, that when booking.com confirmed the booking with the hotel the guy on reception (Dolores kept referring to ‘he’) had typed in my name which coincidentally was the same name as the person Dolores had phoned and who had stayed in the hotel 4 years ago, and just assumed it was the same person so he put all her details like phone number etc into the booking form. He obviously didn't compare the two bookings or notice that we had booked 2 houses and not one which was what the other person had booked at the time so he only booked one for us (there were 8 of us in the group). I phoned Dolores straight away who wasn’t inclined at all to take any responsibility for the error but was quick to blame the guy on reception and said ‘it was damn lucky there was another house available’ that we could have. She wasn’t one bit apologetic and was very aggressive and indignant. A lesson in customer services wouldn’t go amiss that’s for sure. Not knowing what to expect when we arrived, thankfully it was all uphill from there. We were able to check into one of the houses straight away and they were just beautiful, not much from the outside but inside they were lovely. A very spacious open plan kitchen / sitting room, shower & toilet downstairs as well as 2 fabulous en-suite bedrooms upstairs. There was a lovely area in the back where we could sit out (no tables or chairs though so we brought out the kitchen ones) as the weather was beautiful. We didn’t get to meet Dolores as she wasn’t working when we arrived! A fabulous lady whose named escapes me (Margaret I think) prepared a table for us for lunch outside on a lovely balcony overlooking the golf course and I couldn’t say enough about her, she was so helpful and just an all round lovely person. We had dinner that night in the restaurant, the menu was the same as the lunch menu, and again the staff couldn’t have been nicer. As it was a birthday celebration they made a huge fuss of the birthday girl, all the staff came out and sang Happy Birthday and clapped and put candles on her dessert so it was great. The Dundrum house hotel is a perfect base for visiting Cashel and Cahir. The Rock of Cashel is very nearby about 20 minutes well worth a visit and also Cahir where there was a beautiful park and gardens, Swiss Cottage and the castle. I would definitely go back to the Dundrum House hotel self catering houses and would highly recommend them but a lesson learned when booking via a third party – always ring the hotel to double check! If my friend hadn’t made that phone call, we would have arrived with nowhere to stay!

Beautiful Home!

Stayed one night at this beautiful B&B when visiting the Doolin area. Short walk or drive to town and a fairly short drive to the cliffs of Moher. The home (built and designed by the owners) was spotless, the bed comfortable, the view from the location was stunning and had a nice spread of fruit salad, toast, cheese, meats etc for breakfast. Thanks David for sharing stories about the “Egan” heritage!
