They were so close......
Reviewed By PKaI've been delaying this review because I hate writing bad reviews, but what can you do.... We stayed here for 3 nights with our dog in October 2021. The location of the hotel is beautiful, it sits in the middle of wine yard so you get nice views and there is good walking trails all around. Rooms are smallish, but not too small, nice beds and minibar. Rooms are kept extremely clean. Breakfast selection is excellent with lots of local delicacies and the staff at breakfast room are fabolous! Which gets us to the not so good parts. Apart from the check-in and the staff at breakfast, the sercice is the problem of this hotel, especially if you don't speak german. On our last night, it was pouring down and we decided to eat at the hotel restaurant (it is rather long walk to the old town where most of the Volkach restaurants are). We go to the restaurant and no, you cannot eat here, you have no reservation and we have party of xx persons. The restaurant was empty at that moment, so we tried to suggest that we are fast eaters, we can get out quickly. No, that was not an option, neither was room service ("No, we don't do that"). No help at all, just cold no to everything, no help or suggestions what we should to etc. So, we took drinks at the bar and tried to think what to do. In the end, we ended up walking to nearest supermarket in the pouring rain to get us something to eat. Not good guys. Next morning, we were checking out, I gave our room number, told them what we had used from minibar (1 beer). I paid and as I walked out, I started to think that wait a minute, didn't we pay this hotel in advance (we had 4 hotel reservations on this trip and I did not remember, this was my bad). At the car, I checked and yes, I had paid this hotel in September. So, back to the reception, same clerk as before, told him that we already paid and showed him the document. With out a word, he just works on the terminal and then gives me the recipe, "It's cancelled". Apparently their system does not show that you have already paid, or he just didn't care....but anyway, no apology, no nothing, unbelievable. Oh, and I ended up paying that 1 beer from minibar with cash, and even that I had to ask him (how about the beer?). In the big picture, small things, but they really can (and in our case, it did) make you feel bad about the hotel.

Reviewed By Daniela TI stayed in Lamm 3 times for a night this year. I find it good for the value, the staff is always very friendly and helpful. The rooms i've been were clean. The breakfast was good enough. I am sure i will book this hotel again. Just few minutes from the A3.

Uit eten top en prima camperplek
Reviewed By Janine KWij moesten onderweg stoppen met de camper en kwamen hier bij toeval uit. Voor 5 euro mochten we aan het stroom en de camper parkeren. Er was alleen geen drinkwater. Het restaurant was top! Hele vriendelijke bediening, behulpzaam en geduldig wilde alles uitleggen. We kozen 3 gerechten forel in kruiden, schnitzel en verassend bietenpannekoekjes (geparneerd). Het was ontzettend smakelijk die forel met huid opeten superlekker en daarbij kregen we salade ook heerlijk en aardappelsalade die was ook heerlijk. Beetje zoetig en zacht. Ik hou niet van aardappels maar deze verkoos ik boven frietjes. Daarbij hadden ze lokale wijnen (uit franken) die waren ook erg lekker. Fruitig en vol. Deze kan je ook voor een euro of 6 kopen mocht je een flesje mee willen nemen. 1 minpuntje was de mannelijke eigenaar (denk ik) deze was niet erg vriendelijk en wat gehaast. De toiletten waren netjes maar hoe de kamers zijn weet ik niet. Ook kon je tot 20u warm eten bestellen wel handig om te weten.

Reviewed By 919dickeVery nice people that make you feel comfortable. The food is also very nice. When they had not currywurst on the menu they still made it. In the morning you get a very good breakfast (on the photo). I would really recommend this place.

Reviewed By ipijEinfach nur wohlfühlen. Kein Luxus, nicht fancy. Dafür persönlich, gemütlich, eigen und individuell. Etwas wirklich Besonderes. Wer Standardluxus sucht, geht in den Kasten inkl. Gruselanbau gegenüber. Ich komme wieder und freue mich schon jetzt.

Reviewed By 675ElizabethSuperb service, v friendly staff and cleanliness off the scale. Food in the restaurant local cuisine but with a gastronomic twist, I sampled the steak tartare and ragout of venison (not on the same night). Local wines chosen by the owner.

Reviewed By RalM_1979The place is really nice designed in order to offer all the needs for a workshop or seminar. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with great bed and also a heated floor. The bathroom is very modern and also with heated floor. Great options for the breakfast also! Highly recommended!

Reviewed By hp gDer Katharinenhof ist schon ein Besuch wert. Bei schönem Wetter im Gartenrestaurant ein Genuss die Ruhe und das gute Essen zu genießen. Die Schnecken als Vorspeise hervorragend. Danach ein auf den Punkt gebratenes Steak mit Salat und Pommes. Sehr schön serviert und dazu ein Klingenberger Spätburgunder.
