Mt. Daisen

Most of the areas are shaded and it’s not very hot in late September. Bring a stick (or a pair) if possible as it’s quite tiring to go up for about two hours (and I chose the easier summer trail already!). It was a wonderful hike though it was quite foggy on the day I arrived the summit of Daisen. Highly recommend staying in a hostel (ryokan in Japanese) along the ryokan street after the hike. You may enjoy onsen to rejuvenate your body. The area is very quiet and relaxing. Enjoy the nature and Japanese culture!

My friend and I were looking to try a nature tour of sorts and happened upon this “Mori no Kuni” online that offered bike tours. The campground it is based out of is incredibly cute with great facilities for families (and amazing playground for children!). The staff were very friendly and spoke a little English. Our guide, nicknamed “Taxi,” was very kind and showed us many great picture spots along the bike trail. It is great for beginner bikers as it is mostly downhill. You feel the wind in your hair and enjoy the gorgeous mountain views! I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Tottori area. They provide the bike and helmets. It is about a 30 minute bus ride from Yonago station. Be mindful of return buses as they are quite spread out throughout the day.

The top of the top of the top of the mountain is the Jinliang's memorial tower, which opened Oyama. . The majestic view of the northern wall of Oyama from the top is also wonderful. The summit at an altitude of 868.5m is also a viewing platform, and a covered rest area is also set up. It is possible to overlook the rough north wall as well as Nakaumi and Yumigahama peninsula, and in the early summer, you can also see a figure of a butterfly such as a long-eared butterfly or a long-eared butterfly.
