We're touring the Kansai area for a few days, and originally were going to dine at a famed eel restaurant in Tottori city. With a delayed schedule and a craving for seafood, we decided to follow TripAdvisor's ratings and visited Yamanoshi instead.Which turned out to be a great find. Situated inside a fresh food market, Yamanoshi offers a simple but fresh menu of seafood. It's possible that local Japanese can make a better find, but for visitors like us this was the freshest (and therefore so tasty) and great value stop.The choicest "Kaizen don", with at least 10 types of fish/ shell fish/ roe, is on offer for less than 1500 yen and the Crab don also looks appetising .

We visited the flower gardens a week ago and the temperature was very hot! We wanted to eat and found our way to this pleasant little restaurant. The menu was all in Japanese and the young man at the counter saw our perplexed faces and came over to see if he could help. He spoke perfect English and helped us make our choice, which came to our chosen table pretty quickly. The food was well prepared, fresh and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here and would highly recommend it for the good service and friendly helpful staff. Thank you for providing such a nice experience.

I may not be the best person to review the food. However, as a foreign traveller, I have to say that this traditional Japanese temple cuisine is just outstanding. This is vegetarian(vegan) foods and the flavour would be bland, but for me, the experience for temple cuisine and staying this accommodation itself is priceless.Pros: everything Cons: coldness. because of location (just in the middle of Mountain) the accommodation is cannot be warm enough. You need to bundle up.

Stopped here after riding my bicycle up to Mt. Daisen.The food was great, although I'm pretty sure the long bike ride made everything taste a whole lot better. Offerings were pork, beef, a variety of vegetables, and rice. My memory is a little fuzzy on this but I believe it was a 2000 JPY bill for all you can eat. Not going to lie, I think I got my money's worth and the staff probably weren't too happy about it.
