The five dramatic Patagonian provinces stretch from the ice fields and granite peaks of the Andes mountains to the rugged Atlantic coast, where southern right whales gather to breed. A nature lover's dream, it's also home to the sizable Peninsula Valdes southern elephant seal colony and the world's largest Magellanic penguin colony, located in the Punta Tombo reserve. At its tip, Tierra del Fuego and Ushuaia, the globe's southernmost city, are popular jumping-off points for Antarctic cruises.

I visit vila la angostura at 2006, a beautiful place to visit, and i stayed in this hotel, it was a very nice stay, clean room, polite lady's at the reception. A nice experience. I hope today is still like that.

When you choose to stay somewhere, there are numerous factors to consider, which people will prioritize differently. These may include: price, convenience, cleanliness, amenities, safety, noise level, friendliness, guest culture, WiFi, and beta. For those who do not know the definition of "beta," it is one of those 'insider' terms used by outdoor enthusiasts and adventure travelers. Originally, it meant valuable and potentially life-saving information about a climbing route, an off-piste ski descent, a stretch of whitewater, a mountain-bike single track, a paraglider/parachute/aircraft LZ (landing zone), etc. Later, it expanded to include anything from important details about an unfamiliar locale (e.g., Ushuaia), where to get the best service and deals on various tourist activities, and where to find that perfect shopping or dining experience. Typically, you get "good beta" from a friendly, helpful and experienced local. On that note, your host at Patagonia Villa, Luciana, is that rare person you meet while traveling that you are going to add to your Christmas-card list; she will make your stay in Ushuaia just that special. Another distinctive travelers' term that this review brings to mind is "good money": when perhaps you spend somewhat more than your original budget but you get way more than you expected and it goes to people who you really like and who earn your respect, that's "good money." One more thing: Gentlemen, if you want to put your outdoorsy travel partner in an unusually amorous mood, bring her to Patagonia Villa. Well, that's it; I think I have answered the rhetorical question in the title of this review of Patagonia Villa in Ushuaia, Argentina.

The rooms are nice and warm (the nights get quite cold in El Chalten), the beds comfortable, the shower has plenty of hot water. What else do you need after a whole day of hiking? There is also some coffee and tea on the table outside the room. The host is very friendly and provides a lot of useful information and recommendations.

I'd definitely return to this place in the future, very cozy and warm (specially in August when it's freezing outside) with a heating system through the floor which can be manually set to the temperature you like. Very well located, 300 meters from the main avenue. Well equipped if you like to cook yourself. It's brand new building, no more than 1-2 years. Very clean. The host is very friendly and making sure you're comfortable all the time.

After staying three nights in Los Cerezos in Bariloche this place was very disappointing. The apartment was old, shabby and uncared for. The cooker had knobs missing, taps had heads missing, beds were old and uncomfortable. The bathroom was terrible. During the 3 days we stayed it not cleaned at all and very expensive for such bad quality. I am sure that in western Europe this place would not pass standards. The owner on the other hand was very friendly!

On bottom line it's a simple and comfortable place to stay, don’t expect too much. If you're looking to pleasure yourself, look for something more fancy with a better lake view. While this place might be slightly aging in terms of design, it's well maintained. Rooms are big, comfortable and clean. The facilities worked properly. The location is close to the lake, but unfortunately some of the lake view is blocked by a newer hotel built right in front, however it's far enough from the new hotel to get a sense of privacy. The place owners are elderly couple, so don't expect for young fresh vibes, but they are friendly and helpful. The price we got was attractive compared to other places around. Overall I think it was a good value for the money.
