Went there and did the walk along the viewing balconies. The view was breathtaking. The walkways are sturdy and handicapped accessible. The service center has a simple cafeteria, gift shop, coffee/hot chocolate stand as well as clean restrooms.
We stopped first at the main area and restaurant to do the north face boat tour, but due to rough 'seas' we had to go to the south face. While there we visited the restaurant to use the bathrooms. I wish we were able to stay longer as the views from the 3 star dinning room looked spectacular.

Perito Moreno Glacier

A trip to this imposing glacier gives you a chance to walk on the ice wearing cleats and to see and hear a truly astounding spectacle: blocks of ice rupturing and floating away as icebergs.

The Perito Moreno glacier is one of Argentina's foremost sights - a 70m tall glacier debouching on to Lake Argentine. It's surrounded by a national park. On entry, you get several roadside places where you can stop to view the glacier, and there is a choice of a boat ride to see it close at hand and/or going to the official visitors' centre, which gives a different viewpoint and prepared tracks to take you to other viewpoints also - and the chance to hear the sounds the glacier makes. It's altogether a stirring experience and very well worth spending time to get to it (it's 50km from El Calafate - slightly over an hour to get there).

Cerro Fitz Roy

Fantastic hike, fairly straightforward until the final kilometer which is a steep climb with lots of rocky steps. But as always, the end goal is well worth the effort. We got a ride to Hosteria Pilar to start the hike there, then walked back to El Chalten via Laguna Capri. Fantastic weather and views the entire day. Hiking poles are very helpful on the final kilometer, both up and down. On a busy day, there will be many other hikers on the trail, so at times you may need to wait for other walkers coming up or down at a faster pace than you. Everyone was very patient and polite.

Pasarelas Perito Moreno

It was really nice to walk along the boardwalk. There are a few different routes to take depending own how much time one has. But it is best to stop at one stage and park onself and wait for the small pieces of the huge glacier to break off. The sound was pretty loud whenever a piece fall and it will create a rippling effect in the water surrounding it. To witness the falling pieces, 1 has to be patient and keep their eyes focused on this mega glacier and be alert as it is usually too late by the time we hear the sound. Its about being at the right spot at the right time and be quick enough to capture it on camera. We were lucky as we managed to see quite a few pieces falling off. Understand that this was due to the rainfall the day before. The rain seeped into the glacier and the difference between the temperature of the rain water and the glacier caused the cracks and breaking off of the pieces.

Laguna de los Tres

most of the hike is fairly gentle apart from the last km & it was a KILLER. 60 degree incline NON-STOP for an hour. Fortunately the views are pretty amazing at the end however I personally preferred the quieter & little known trek to Loma del Pliegue Tombado as the panoramic views from there were second to none. We refilled our water bottles from streams enroute & had no issues.

We visited the Bariloche office of Parque Nacional and were assisted by an extremely helpful lady who gave us lots of tips on what walks to do, particularly as there had been a recent heavy snow fall. Worthwhile visiting if going to do any walking.

We couldn't stop at all the viewpoints because it was drizzling and really cold, but the ones we could stop at had the most beautiful views, everyone (ages 10 to 80) enjoyed the ride from San Martin De Los Andes to Bariloche, beginning and end to the Route of the Seven Lakes..

Travelled as part of a Piratour Tour, which allowed us access on the island. The penguins, majority Magellan, bot also some Papua, and a pair of King Penguins. It is a spectacle to watch them, coming and going into the water. At the time of our travel-January 2018 the chicks were almost grown, but still with the fuzz on them.Very cute and entertaining, however one has to keep distance from them, not to interfere.
