On the Fischland-Darss-Zingst peninsula, the beach runs between unspoiled sand dunes and the Baltic Sea. Zingst itself draws tourists to its soft, fine sands, ideal for sunbathing; and to its spas for treatments founded on natural remedies. For nature lovers, the peninsula is host to a national forest park and is also a stopover for thousands of European migratory cranes.

Room horrible, ground floor streetside. I have never had such thin loo paper and tissues. Room 94 next to staff room so no sleep after 6:30 or 7. Staff have a sliding door cupboad which they love to slide. Also noise during the night, be it the room above or staff room. Breakfast a disaster, only some smoked salmoln but no other fish except red herring salad. No choice menu for specials such as fried egg or omlett. For dinner, I do like veg "al dente" but not raw! For a good steak, go to "Sorgenfrei", not here. I know everyone has staff problems but at least they should speak English or German. The head people in service are good but the rest are useless. Swimming pool is good but where is the gym?

Traveling as a couple, we visited Zingst spontaneously and found a room which we booked on the internet. The room was very clean with a huge bathroom. We got this room because the main building was sold out. Check in and breakfest was good. The only thing we did not like was the internet access which was unusable slow like in the early days of the internet. (We only wanted to check some weather infos, we didn't try to stream anything).

Family owned hotel where you feel at home from the first moment with a welcome drink. The family and staff is very friendly, ”Father of the house” even greets the guests in the dining room and gives friendly advices what to see and do at the breakfast. Facilities are modern and fine decorated to give that special cosy atmosphere. Breakfast is high standard, with fine cutlets, salads, smoked fish, yoghurts, fresh fruits and fine selection of bread. Every morning you have “today’s paper” on the breakfast table presenting today’s menu, special priced treats in the SPA and special events. There is also a full schedule of activities to shoes from including Pilates, water gymnastic in the morning and cultural walks in they day time to join as a guest. They serve after noon delicious cakes to suite all cake lovers. We had half board and 5 course dinner every evening, starting with tasty buffet salads and cutlets, soap of the day, main course, dessert and very tasty cheeses. Good variation and everything very tasty and well cooked. You relieve a seated table for the diner which is good so that you know you always have that exact table available whenever you want to eat your dinner. The SPA is lovely with many treatments to choose from. We tried Floating, you lay in a big bath tub for two with water of 28% salt content (Mediterranean Sea 3,5% and the Dead Sea 29% salt content) so you cleat as a cork and every muscle relaxes for 45 min. Recommend! Free parking under the hotel. Poor WiFi in the local area in general also affecting WiFi in the hotel, general service providers are lookin into this with intention to have it fixed end 2019.

this is not a 4-star hotel

Reviewed By codnchips

The Hotel View Jahreszeiten Zingst is located a little outside the small town of Zingst on the Baltic Coast, not far from the ‘Nationalpark Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft’ (Western Pomerania Lagoon Area National Park), which is a very beautiful natural area of marshland, lagoons and unspoilt beaches. We stayed here in early September for a short walking holiday. I ordered a suite and requested beds in separate rooms since I was staying with my sister. When I arrived as requested the beds had duly been set up separately. The two main rooms of the suite were absolutely fine. The hotel has an excellent swimming pool area and hot tub. I didn’t check out the sauna. This hotel did not provide the level of comfort I would expect for one apparently with a 4+ star rating for which I was paying a fairly high rate. This was disappointing, because it was a special event. The suite was inconveniently designed, considering this hotel is not so old. The 2 rooms were on an upper level and a very small bathroom area was on the lower level, which meant climbing stairs every time to use the bathroom, which can be an issue if you are a little unsteady on your feet. We already used up the small supply of shampoo on the 2nd day but when I requested more I was informed that it was not hotel policy to replenish it. Really?! That was a first for me and I have stayed in many hotels. Admittedly they then made an ‘exception’ for me. That ain’t hospitality. Bottles and glasses we left in the room were not removed by the cleaners but left there for the duration. There is no room service. Neither was there anywhere I could buy room snacks or provisions after we exhausted the mini-bar. There is a bar but no bar snacks were offered. Instead we only had the choice of the restaurant where the only choice was a buffet, which in any case was soon closing (at 21:00). The staff seemed efficient but hardly friendly and helpful. On our arrival I asked a question about the local tax and was simply handed a brochure. Yes, I can read – but it would be nice to have a short explanation too. And a smile perhaps? I didn't feel at all welcomed after the long drive. Otherwise the hotel fulfills its role to provide a clean, safe place to sleep, although there are cheaper options closer to the village which might not offer a swimming pool, but cost less with the same amount of comfort and perhaps more genuine hospitality. The hotel is advertised as 4-star. For the above reasons I don’t believe it merits more than 2 stars - unless the swimming pool / sauna are an important feature for the guest. Most of these issues are easy to rectify. Until then I am unlikely to choose this hotel next time.

we have been here several times and we never had an issues, the team is friendly, the rooms are good and very clean, the breakfast is great (even in the Conoid-Period), the location is peaceful. If you want to have a good internet connection, you will be a bit disappointed, but isn't it good to have a good time off? we will be back, like we have over the last 5-6 years, always for a longer weekend. We highly recommend to bring a bike or rent a bike, it's great to make bike-rides in this area.

Enjoyable Atmosphere behind the Dike

Reviewed By Ulrich K

I stayed here several days with my wife to explore the neighborhood. We had rented bikes to get around faster. In addition, we rented a bike-trailer for our dog so that we could take him along. The hotel is ideally situated just behind the dike for such excursions, because the bike trail runs on top of the dike. We had a nice modern and clean room and the food within the half-board arrangement was excellent. To get to the beach I advise to take the bike because walking there will take 12 to 15 minutes. If you have to go to the dog's beach, even longer. A good excursion is to take the boat from the nearby harbor to Ahrenshoop and to return by bike.
