This small family owned hotel was a surprise. The rooms and suites were very nicely decorated and provided much more amities like other high class hotels. We stayed at the vineyard suite with access to the park. We felt very much home and comfortable. The bathroom was huge and the fireplace was very romantic. Everyone treated us very friendly and professional. The breakfast is great. Fresh breads and rolls of many kind. Eggs of the style you want. Big variety of meat and sausages and cereals. Fresh orange juice. We liked this place very much. If we are back in this region we will definitely come back

Excellent quality for this price

We stayed here on a Groupon deal for a weekend getaway. The hotel is nice and clean and is good with corona measures. A mask is required in the reception area, elevator and hallways. Instead of a buffet breakfast, a breakfast plate with saran wrap is served at your table. We were pleasantly surprised by Wuppertal. It’s a nice city to walk around. The shopping district is nearby and the cable train is a nice way to get a view of the city.

Great rooms, very quiet

The actual location of the hotel was hard to find for me, a foreigner, with the transit system- but I eventually made it. It is self-check-in, I was surprised there was no one at the entrance. Send in your covid proof of vaccination ahead of time so you can sign in easily- I was confused. The service phone number works after a few tries. The room was great once I got in. Private toilet and shower, even a tv.

A decent night's stay

Reviewed By 355stefang

We stayed here one night in August. The hotel is centrally located, and there is parking on the streets but only for certain times of day and overnight, free of charge. Or, pay to use the hotel's garage. The hotel is rather new. I could smell the paint, building materials, carpet, etc. It's extremely clean. There is no AC in the room, though there was a fan, but it didn't do much on the super hot day we were there. The windows opened, but didn't help much with the heat - did cool down somewhat at night when combined with the fan. Bed was comfortable enough, shower water got very hot, and the room was of ample size for two people. Staff was pleasant. Didn't try the breakfast, so can't comment on that. I will point out that our room faced across from a elderly care home and during the night the Staff there would take breaks outside and were rather noisy. Perhaps ask for a room that doesn't face that building. I do appreciate the environmentally friendly attitude the hotel presents. Decent hotel for a night or two to explore the city of Wuppertal.

Small, pleasant and central

Stayed once again and was made very welcome. The hotel is very close to the station in a shopping street. It is quiet and the proprietor is very helpful. You pay a location tax for which you get a voucher for all local transport. The overhead railway - however - is closed for urgent repairs until August!

Used to be much better!

This review does not refer to the hotel, but only to the restaurant in the hotel building. The hotel is located at the end of a rather densely built residential street with chaotic parking conditions. The hotel does have its own parking lot and a small parking garage, but even this fills up quite quickly, especially when large family gatherings are held in the restaurant. The rooms of the restaurant can be found by passing through some rather confusing and winding corridors. The ambience is a bit old-fashioned. The service is not really professional, which you notice during the whole stay. Even the payment process only works reasonably promptly if you intercept your waitress at the billing computer. You have to wait a long time before you get the chance to reorder drinks. So you sit for quite a long time in front of empty glasses. But now to the main thing: food. Various schnitzels are offered with French fries and a side salad. The salad is okay, but the schnitzel not at all. The meat is dried out, the breading has a consistency that corresponds to that of frozen products. The whole product is too salty and not really edible. Thus, several guests ate the schnitzel only in part. And this was not noticed by the waitress. It was also not asked at all whether the food was okay. The fries, on the other hand, were edible. A very long time ago, this was a recommendable restaurant where many locals liked to eat.

No place to sleep

Reviewed By Nathalie W

The building is nice, the room was clean and the staff was really nice and helpful. The hotel is located in the city, so you are directly in the city and there is not a long walk to the historical city hall. BUT the windows in my room seemed to have no insulation, so I couldn't sleep till three a.m. as there were drunk people shouting in the streets all night. After I wrapped my head in the pillow, I could get some sleep which was not enough as I had to get up early. Can work for people who want to go out all night but the rooms are way to expensive for beeing awake all night.
