The White House is a delightful 15th Century Grade II listed manor house set in one acre of attractive gardens providing a relaxing atmosphere for all. Having been awarded 4 Yellow Stars by the AA for its outstanding facilities and service and the prestigious Enjoy England Silver Award, The White House is also highly recommended by the English Tourist Board. Having been refurbished by Mike and Linda, The White House offers first class bed and breakfast accommodation in comfortable surroundings.

Reviewed By Swood124Let's start with the Guest House itself. Great value for money, the cheapest BY FAR and parking for £5 a night what more could you want! We arrived late Saturday night and flew early Sunday and wanted to get a taxi sorted. The owner gave us a handful of taxi firms to use and we quickly got one booked. The room was lovely and homely, just what we needed and had a coffee machine and fridge etc. The shower was great and everywhere was clean and tidy. Ideal place if travelling from Stansted and about a 7 minute drive from the terminal! Now to the hosts.. We flew back in the middle of storm Eunice and after a horrendous flight and the chaos in the airport as a result of the weather disruption, we could not find a taxi or transport back to the guest house to collect our car. I called the guest house and asked if they knew any other taxi firms we could try as the 41 minute walk in the storm wasn't taking my fancy. Without hesitation the owner told us to make our way to the Raddison Hotel and he would collect us and bring us back to the guest house!!! He was amazing and made our awful day so much easier. He was there within 10 minutes and got us back to the car straight away and we will be forever grateful for that so thank you so much! Will definitely stay here again and we are so grateful for the owners going above and beyond for their guests!

Reviewed By Victoria LBooked due to early flight from stansted. Self check in is quick and easy. Room was quaint and beautiful clean, tea and coffee facilities provided. Bed was super comfy. We did venture downstairs as advertised as cocktail bar and restaurant but was told it was a Thai restaurant and did not serve cocktails so we found another restaurant locally. We was super impressed with whole stay and would definitely return!

Reviewed By 308maciehstayed here for one night before flying out to italy and the woman at reception was so kind and lovley, the hotel room is absolutely amazing, so much better, heated bathroom floor, double bed, amazing space, hair wash,body wash and soap provided, a massive shower which is handy as im a bigger woman. the stay was amazing definitely recommend ??

Reviewed By YouCanal1Experience to forget. They changed my reservation on the SAME day of departure without giving me any explanations or any way to organize myself. Once I arrived at the Guest House, the receptionist, a completely incompetent person (seemed to have "come down from the clouds"), not only he did not give me any help to solve the problem, but he did not even answer the doorbell (and the house is in a completely dark area). Fortunately, I realized for myself that the front door was open. Then I called the "property contact number" and the guy tells me that they moved me to another hotel (that's true. They sent me an email, but if it is sent on the same day of the reservation it is not easy to see it during the trip) and after having begged him to book a taxi to the hotel of destination (it was 2 am and not living in the area it was difficult for me find a taxi sevice) on the second call I finally be able to have a taxi to reach the Hotel Desalis (but since it was obvious that I was in trouble, why didn't he propose to call a taxi for me during the first call?). At the Hotel Desalis the service has been better but the rough way in which they moved my reservation can only make me evaluate the service truly unprofessional.

Reviewed By Kendall JA truly delightful place set amongst beautiful green land in a nice area. The room was comfy and a nice view of the garden was truly relaxing and peaceful. Breakfast was a help yourself affair in a purpose designed room with a table allocated per bedroom. Well stocked fridge with various yoghurts etc, plenty of bread variations, jams, peanut butter et etc. Absolutely perfect and relaxing but if you prefer a cooked breakfast then maybe pop out to a cafe. Only downside for us was the fact we didn’t have any bedside lamps and had to switch overhead lights on that were a bit too bright for evening time. A very delightful place indeed

Perfect pre-Stansted getaway
Reviewed By GallopersAfter a long journey circumnavigating the M25, ahead of an 0355 checkin tomorrow morning at Stansted, was very grateful to reach this little oasis of calm less than 10 minutes from the airport. Wonderful unexpected touches waiting for us on arrival, helping make a brief overnighter much more memorable than a soul-less identikit airport hotel. Would also make a great base for exploring the local area. Rounded off the evening with a trip to the mobile delights of Trott & Whinny’s amazing food and a glimpse of the lovely countryside surrounding the property. Has certainly helped rest us up ahead of all that Stansted and Ryanair might challenge us with in the morning….

Reviewed By josephine732I got off the plane at 10:20 took a taxi straight to the Hotel couldn’t get an answer knock on the windows phoned the hotel taxi driver left I was left outside had to walk back to Stanstead airport it is now 220 am in the morning got to wait to 4 o’clock to get a coach to Heathrow then I have to wait another three hours to get a coach 830am to Exeter horrified by this experience you’ve took £45 of my money Carol I am very angry and upset as I’ve never heard anything like it in my life to run a B&B next to the airport and have a shutdown by 11 o’clock when I was outside your just after 11 I don’t know how you could leave someone on the street Josephine Rooney

Welcome to Stansted Guest House, we are a small family run business, set in 3 acres of Mature Gardens and surrounded by Essex countryside, we benefit to being the second closest accommodation to Stansted Airport Terminal, we are only a 3-minute taxi ride or a 15 minute walk. Open between 16:00 - 22:30 and check out at 10:00, unfortunately we are unable to offer late/early check in's, under any circumstances. All Rooms include en suite bathrooms, freeview flat screen TVs, hairdryers, tea/coffee making facilities, ironing facilities on request and WIFI is available in your room for £2 per day, rooms have either lovely countryside views or beautiful mature garden or some have both. We are unable to accommodate children under 8 years old or extra beds in our rooms. Overnight parking is free and thereafter costs £5 per day/part day. A light self-service breakfast is available in the breakfast room overlooking our beautiful mature garden, available from 07:00 and costs £5 per person.

Reviewed By ASMEbitchAfter booking online and selecting check in from 22.00 - 23.00 from the drop down menu(immediately after the guest house taking my payment) I received a message saying the doors would be locked at 22.30. I called to say there was a misunderstanding, as I had selected 22.00-23.00 from their drop down menu and due to a flight, i would arrive 22.30 at the very earliest, but certainly before 23.00. The owner was very rude, no customer service skills at all. I was told I couldn't stay and would not get a refund. I ended up having to make another booking for that night at the premier inn (which was 10/10 highly recommended) as I was so anxious about being on my own in January with no transport or anywhere to stay. Very unprofessional from the guesthouse, and shocking he would leave a solo female traveller stranded for the sake of 30 mins. (Which I hadv selected from their drop down menu) really awful service.
