The All Inclusive 24h Hotel Riu Palace Tikida Taghazout opened its doors in October 2019 and is located right on the fine-sandy beach of Taghazout Bay, separated from beach only by the beachfront promenade. There is a separate beach section for hotel guests' exclusively use. Reviewed By 575samanthahJust back from a week break I would have rated the hotel and service over all 4.5 stars. Resort itself is breath taking and is kept exceptionally well by the ground staff. The grounds are beautiful without a doubt. Rooms are absolutely stunning and for longer stays they are more than comfortable. Great bathroom, clothing area, and the bedroom size was fantastic. Staff at the hotel are very attentive and polite at all times. They all have a fantastic level of English which is fantastic. Very helpful at all times and nothing was ever to much trouble. All the teams that work in the hotel that we came across the cleaners, bar staff, catering staff, and reception and security were all very well mannered and helped your experience. Down falls, When we arrived at half 2 in the morning we were given a map to find my hotel room which was not easy. So a 5 star service I would have expected more from RUI. Secondly the map was not easy to navigate Thirdly the resort is massive so doesn’t help matters. In places the hotel starting to look more to a 4 star than 5. Lifts were an issue which kept breaking down frequently which is disappointing. RUI app is something to be desired not quiet making the bench mark here. You would request something through the app and if it happens it happens. Sometimes your requests were not honoured. So maybe a bit of work required here. Dinner at the Buffet restaurant at 7pm there would be a massive line of customers waiting to get in. And when you did get in there was a line of RUI staff there to welcome you it was quiet weird and I felt it was uncomfortable. In light of this it’s an embarrassment to an establishment of such a high level of standard. And the hotel should be thinking how this looks to the public eye who has spent over £2,000 for a week stay, Al Carte restaurants are not Al Carte choice is not great. Take yourself down to the marina in Agadir if you want Al Carte. It was as if you had to have the same food as everyone else it was a bit like a factory converbelt. Entertainment was very poor and not enough activities on site. Overall we had a fantastic experience and a great holiday. Thank you to your team for a pleasant stay,

One other thing that deserves an additional highlight is the surf academy - guys are the best, especially Ahmed, you couldn’t ask for a better surf instructor - thanks to him I caught the best waves in my life and had the best time! Without a doubt I give him the highest rating possible and highly recommend going surfing with this guy!

Reviewed By Atifpatel717We arrived at the hotel to be greeted by the doorman who helped us with our bags. We checked in pretty straight forward and confirmed our half board. We asked if we could proceed to dinner and were told it was available till 10:30pm. We arrived for dinner and it’s really strange the desk is located near the back entrance to the pool and coming down from reception using either the stairs or the pool there is no desk to sign in. We had to find our way to sign in. The issues begin where you find you are greeting the hotel staff rather than the other way around. We had dinner and as we were leaving we were chased down by a young man who had a receipt and was asking card? I informed him we have half board and he said ok let me check. We were taken to the desk for the man to inform us your room number is not on the list. I informed him we have half board to which he said can I check with reception. I said of course. He then called and could not confirm. He then told me is it okay for me to escort you to reception. Looking confused I agreed. We were then stood at reception rather embarrassed in front of other guests to be told there was a mistake on the system and we have half board. The apology was half hearted. The selection of food at dinner was pretty poor. There was much of the same dishes so plenty of different types of chicken. Not much other selection. A real disappointment for a so called 5* hotel. Onto the next disappointment. The spa facilities are pretty poor. The staff around the entire hotel feel like they have received a serious lack of training. Another factor I have noticed is the lack of management. Staff don’t appear to have the guidance of management. Not what you come to expect from a 5* Hyatt hotel. I booked in to use the jacuzzi which must be booked for a short period of 20 mins once a day. The jacuzzi was not working. The staff unable to tell me when it was expected to be fixed. So having paid and chose this hotel based on its spa facilities I feel incredibly let down. I visited the sister hotel the Hyatt regency to ask if I could use their facilities to which I was told it was for hotel guests only. Overall my experience so far has been pretty poor. I have a few days left and once home I won’t be recommending this hotel. The area is developing but it’s been 6 years in the making now. I do let off 2-3 years for covid but it doesn’t feel like it’s got a goal of becoming something special. I am almost certain I will not be returning and I would very strongly recommend people do a lot of research before booking here. As a note there is literally nothing to do in this area. Not a basic supermarket within walking distance. The shop in the hotel is incredibly overpriced. Agadir is a 25-30 min cab away which costs 200 MAD. This is roughly £20 nearly £40 return. It’s a lot. Not many options at all for food either. If you want to wander around you really can’t because the hotel is 70m above sea level and it’s an intense walk going up! I hope to speak with a manager at the hotel to try to discuss these issues. There is potential for this place to be great and I do like the peace and tranquil but they need to do more to make you feel at home in the premises so you don’t need to leave! Also staff training is a must! 2 star because I like the peace and quiet but overall it is poor.

Amazing holiday

Very relaxing place incredible scenery.But what make this place unique is the workers they are so nice, professional, with attention to details. Outstanding service from Youssef and Mouhcine but also and not the least the cleaning team Khadija el Aabid , Mustapha Bousber, Fadwa, Mima Mizi , they really made our holiday special. Big thank you to Oussama very nice waiter always welcoming us with a bright smile at beef and reef and also Abdelali from Morimoto .You also should definitely get a hammam treatment with Hassna I felt brand new after leaving the hammam . We will be back

We pride ourselves on being the premier lodging property in the village of Taghazout, Morocco. Our guesthouse is a mix between a traditional BnB and an art hotel. None of our rooms (15) or spaces are alike. The central theme at Munga is salvaged wood and recycled materials. With multiple terraces and some of the best vistas in town, Munga is the perfect getaway experience to enjoy surf and sunny days.

Reviewed By vilcinsWe stopped at Munga Guesthouse bar for a beer – the experience was great, it was calm and cosy. One of the places where you can buy alcohol in Taghazout. There were lots of cats, which was a bonus for us. :) Would like to stay at Munga Guesthouse as a guest some day!

Located a walk way from the beach (3 min walking), in the small town of Taghazout, our brand new guest house has on the ground floor a common room with satellite TV, WiFi connection, dining room, chill out zone, bathroom and kitchen, and on the first, second and third floors we have 9 comfortable rooms, all with private bathroom. At the roof-top there’s two wonderful terraces with spectacular views on all the surf spots, and a fully-equipped yoga shala where you can have the opportunity to try our yoga classes to compliment the daily surf sessions by stretching out worked out arms, lower backs and shoulders. It’s a perfect place to relax and discover the region, mainly for the surfers and for those who like adventures of every kind (jeep 4×4, trek, horses, camels, mules, VTT, quads…) Check out our Facebook page for photos of the Guest House.

Reviewed By FellowTraveler664074Everything you’re looking for as a tourist in Taghazout is gathered at this guesthouse: clean commodities, wifi, surfing teachers, yoga classes, even history/cultural lessons about Morocco from the manager who is always here to help! The cherry on the cake is the rooftop that offers a 360 view over the town and the ocean. Definitely the best place to be for a sunset!

We're metres from world class waves like Anchors and Killers, as well as beginner breaks like Panorama Beach. Our hostel is a home from home with 7-bed dorms to private doubles! We provide a free breakfast, film nights, trips to Paradise Valley,, souk tours, fishing trips, Moroccan cooking classes and more! Our communal rooms and ocean view terrace with a pool table are perfect for kicking back. At night enjoy a yoga lesson with our live-in instructor, jam sessions and more. We offer guests a bbq dinner twice a week, and free cous cous meal on Fridays! Guests can use a fully equipped kitchen and wifi throughout the hostel. Reviewed By Kasse FKehan and I booked in for 4 nights and ended up staying for more than a week before we took off to see the rest of Morocco. It was our first time in Morocco and the brothers who run the hostel really made us feel at home! They’ve got the wicked setup, located in the middle of Taghazout with a sea view from the roof top terrace (where we hung out most of the time). The boys, Samir, Yassir, Josef, Hassan and J (and Axel who showed us around the first day) plus all the others that made our stay there great, really looked after us and had a great time hanging out with them at the hostel. Even though we arrived on the festival of Eid and considering it was low season, we managed to score home cooked tagine, a bbq night, did some yoga, went surfing and sandboarding . Let alone all the nights of great conversation and laughs. It’s a very social hostel and you’re more than likely to meet like minded people to hang out with. most people end up staying there for longer than planned. We met some great people whilst our stay at the Surfhostel and had a wicked time there, ended up going back at the end of our trip just to “chill at home”. And will stay there again when we go back to Morocco!

Reviewed By _kyledasilvaAfter tumbling around Morocco on buses and grand taxis, Taghazout surf lodge was the perfect place to hole up and get some rest and some waves. Mohammed and Mohammed (Or Mr. 100 and Mo, whatever you like), are a hillarious, kind, welcoming duo with crucial info on every surf spot from Killers to Tamraght, every tajine place from Tajine Palace to...well, just eat at Tajine Palace, oh my god eat at Tajine Palace, and they have the hook up at the Atlantic Surf Shop. The beds at the surf lodge are clean and the comfiest I slept in in Morocco. The breakfast is a big plate of fruit with pommegranite, grapes, bananas, plums, yoghurt, and bread with amlou - a rich sweet sauce made from peanuts, argan oil, and honey. From the terrace you can see all the way down to Anchor Point, so check when the low, outgoing tide is, and climb up onto a chair to stare at the point and plan your epic session. It's only a 20 minute walk and there are so many little nooks and crannies around there you're almost guaranteed to score. Stick around on the terrace in the evening to grab the guitar for singalongs, have a mint tea, play pool, and if you think you're riding a little too cocky, try your luck against Mr. 100.
