10 hotels in Sicily: Best hotel deals for 2023

August 7, 2022 Dorsey Hagwood

A visit to Sicily is truly a feast for all senses. The Mediterranean island is a foodie’s paradise, offering rustic fare that makes the most of local bounty. Crispy/creamy arancini – fried balls of rice filled with cheese and sauce – are mouthfuls of heaven. The Sicilian sweet tooth has manifested in some of the world’s finest desserts, like icy granita and sinful cannoli. Give your stomach a quick break and visually devour the Baroque architecture of Catania or the awesome holy monuments of Agrigento.

Lovely hotel for our short break

Great hotel for our 3 day trip. Staff were very helpful and gave us some good recommendations for places for dinner. Room was a good size, well presented and we had a sea view with a balcony. Breakfast was very nice. On the first night we enjoyed a drink in the roof top bar and on the second night we dined at the roof top restaurant. The food was very good, the staff were very informative and helpful when navigating the menu which was in Italian and advised what i could have while pregnant.

lovely hotel with picturesque views

Just back from a long weekend stay here, lovely hotel, very friendly staff - nothing too much trouble. We stayed in a sea view room with a terrace-had beautiful views. There are a couple of niggles though - no toaster in breakfast room (who doesn't just love a slice of toast for breakfast!?) and also woken up each morning at 6.30am by the furniture being moved above our room - not sure if it was the cleaners or guests, but very annoying!

Sicilian elegance

We just returned from three nights at the Mazzaro Sea Palace Hotel. We had added a few days in Sicily to a longer trip to Croatia and we are now talking about a return to Taormina, as we enjoyed it so much. As you can see from the other rave reviews, this is a special hotel and while the facilities and location are outstanding, the staff was the best I have ever encountered in over 50 years for travel. Courteous, knowledgeable, attentive and efficient are just the beginning of the adjectives I could use for the folks who work here. Anyway, we hope to return and I can't recommend it enough.

Great Experience

Reviewed By kccook24

Had a fantastic holiday, resort had everything you could want. Gardens and public areas immaculate, room very comfortable modern and clean. Bar and Restaurant staff were excellent, thanks to the central bar team, who were very helpful and always smiling. Animation team worked endless hours, very professional. Even though the hotel is aimed at Italian and French speakers, 95% of the staff were more than happy to speak a little English, only issue was the excursions were only available in French or the Italian and therefore we didn't get to see much of wonderful Sicily on this trip. Special thanks to Antoinella (central bar) Raul and Max (animation and tennis coach) and Julia from reception who took time to explain how everything worked. Two points to consider, restaurant was a bit hectic, would benefit from allocating the same table at all meal times especially with the current Covid situation. Checkin could be better and time taken to explain the resort/map/facilities. Great value for money, would love to return in 2022.

Great location, great service - just plain great!

We stayed in the family room which was larger than what we needed, but it ended up serving us well after some severe jet lag. (Extra couch came in handy). The location of this hotel could not be better. Virtually accessible to everything Palermo has to offer. The service and attention of the staff was beyond what was expected. Could not recommend more highly.

Great staff but would not make 4* superior

Reviewed By lawrencea2016

The staff at this hotel are super, attentive and very cordial. Breakfast sparse on breakfast food but very good on cakes etc. Dinner was ok except when they served chicken which had a lot of blood and was clearly not cooked properly which put us off dinner (7 persons). Towels in our room were threadbare and one had a hole at one end and frayed. (Room 310) unbelievable in a supposedly 4 star superior hotel. Where it not for the excellent staff wouldn't have stayed more than one day out of five. Certainly not 4*. Otherwise its off the main highway in in industrial park. Private beach was 10kms away. With better management supervision might improve. We stayed between 13-17 April 2022.

Oasis in the Agrigento Hills

Reasonably priced, secluded, upscale hotel with swimming pool and bar, full service restaurant, and sweeping valley views. Exceptional staff and service !! If you arrive by car, you will be buzzed in via an electronic gate. A staff member on a golf cart greeted us to assist with checkin and luggage. Our room was a little small but workable since we booked the economy room but we were upgraded to a balcony with chairs. Rooms were very modern with a refrigerated wall mini bar, TV, and bathroom fixtures. Breakfast is interesting and exciting as there were tasty unfamiliar, local foods- more than just the usual run of the mill. Dinner was accompanied by soft breezes relaxing, gentle jazz music, panoramic views, local wine, and attentive service. If you have an extra day or two, it’s a good place to enjoy the ambience. Olive oil and almonds are produced on the estate.

Delightful Spring Break

Reviewed By 490alanf

The Albatros Beach Hotel is a smart, clean and modern place to stay, where the staff are always keen to help with a smile. It stands out a bit from the rest of Letojanni, which is a traditional coastal town, where the majority of the shops and restaurants are a bit uninspiring. This contrasts sharply with Taormina, on the hillside above Letojanni, which is filled with stylish shops, bars and eateries. The hotel runs a shuttle bus to and from there, though the day and evening. We found one member of staff particularly helpful, Bernadetta on the front desk. She re-organised car hire and an excursion at very short notice when we were away from the hotel, a real credit to them. The hotel provided a perfect balance between beach holiday and a base to enjoy Sicily.
