Not what I expect from Holiday Inn Express
Reviewed By C-GOXJI've stayed at many many of these hotels over the years. I've come to expect a great sleep and a clean hotel. This one, however was less than I expected. Our room had a very noisy AC unit that would sometimes squeak and wake all 3 of us up. It was either be too hot and not sleep or wake up to this monstrosity trying its best to cool the room down. Maintenance looked at it but said their was nothing they could do. They gave us some IHG points instead. The fan in the bathroom seems to exist but there's no way to turn it on so I'm assuming it's broken. Lovely to have no vent in such a small box. They were sold out so changing rooms wasn't an option. And since they were sold out I must have chosen the wrong times to shower each day and was treated to a cold shower. On the plus sides, the staff were very friendly, the room was very clean, and the beds were comfy. I wouldn't say to avoid this hotel as I'm sure most rooms are quiet, but we didn't sleep very well and that's the whole point.

We are excited to share with you that we have recently renovated our lobby!! Stop in and stay the night and enjoy the great new look we have done for our guests. We now serve yogurt and still offer some gluten free items. We have also just upgraded our Tv services to HD for your viewing pleasure. We hope to see you soon!!!

Reviewed By Esther MI have stayed at a few Super 8's before and this was was by far my favourite. Even though it is right on a very busy main street, it's incredibly quiet due to its placement and being beside a residential street. The grassy areas beside and behind it were great for my dog and I really appreciated that they had designated garbage buckets for pet waste. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable, and it had a microwave as well which does not always happen in other hotels. Also bonus points for having a Starbucks next door! Only things to note - if you are picky about your pillows consider bringing your own in. I found mine were a little too large for my liking. As well, you can hear people moving around above your room if you are ground level so if you are a light sleeper maybe bring ear plugs. I would 100% stay there again and have already recommended my family stay there when they come through town in October.

After pulling up to the front and trying to figure which door to use we noticed the street people milling all around along with how sketchy the area was , we went into the lobby which was smaller than our ensuite at home , took it all in and left . Yuk ! Stayed the night at the Delta Marriot by the lake , 250% nicer !!

Reviewed By Fran PAlways a pleasure to stay there. Front desk is friendly and rooms are nice. Proximity to restaurants is great and fitness area is also nice after a long drive. We will stay again on our trip back how to Victoria in the fall. Breakfast is the only thing that is not great- choices are very limited.

Most hospitable place in town
Reviewed By Dc6982We had a staycation for my sons birthday and it was awesome! We had a river view overlooking the canal district which was breathtaking especially at dusk. The rooms were really clean. Heated floor in the bathroom which was nice and very comfy beds. Great nights sleep. Hallways were very clean. We used the pool after dinner and again in the morning. The staff were checking the chemical balance pretty much every hour on the dot. That was a very welcoming sight. Pool area and fitness centre were all kept very clean and the pool felt new on the feet when walking in it. We went down to view for breakfast. We had Julie as a server and she was very attentive and nice. Breakfast buffet showed value for the price.

Reviewed By TravelotsTorontoWow, Sunny is the crown jewel of Sault Ste. Marie!! What amazing and warm customer service. He made us feel like we were his most important customers. The hotel was clean and comfortable and Johnny's restaurant right in the lobby was top notch. The customer service experience extended to our dinners as well. Would go back to this place in a heartbeat just to see Sunny again. Thanks for all you did for us.
