The owner does not care about his guests

We where looking forward to attending the Saint Louis Jazz Festival, everything planned and great company. We booked 4 rooms for 8 people at the Siki hotel 6 month in advance, really looking forward to a great weekend as the photos on their website looked great. Avoid the hotel at any cost, the owner does not care about his customers, the rooms are substandard and we have had no water for most of the first 2 days. The breakfast is a joke, we could not even finish eating our first breakfast as the tomatoes where rotten, the ham from the cheapest supplier made in Senegal. We traveled with kids and where never able to get a table in the hotel restaurants as the hotel owner priorities outside bookings vs taking care of their clients. While Senegal welcomes foreigners to open Businesses in Senegal, let`s make sure those that do get an opportunity are professional.

Hotel La Residence

Architectural charming hotel, from fiftie's, situated in the heart of the historic island.

No recommendation. Very overpriced.

Quite overpriced hotel experience. We had a room for two on the third floor with bad WiFi connection for 46000 and totally overpriced breakfast for 11000 per person per breakfast. Simple shower with mold. Hard pillows. No recommendation or check very well beforehand. And skip the breakfast. We payed about the same for dinner.

Fantastic location next to river and amazing food

Reviewed By beachbummer75

We stayed for a night here after Saint Louis as we wanted more time at the bird park Location was great right next to the river so we could take the inflatable kayak to explore the river front, villages, flora and fauna We had a room next to river - windy, spacious and filled with nice art pieces plus hot water :) Food was really good I had grilled capitaine and husband had beef we took the chocolate dessert which was nice Hosts were really chatty and attentive Only pointers 1. Room was old - lots of cobwebs, some part of ceiling and wall crumbling. Bed was short for my 1.8m husband his legs was sticking out . Towels had a strange smell. Doors didn’t work very well 2. They could have offered some activities eg kayak, cycling etc for guests Overall still a nice quaint location but would be better if the fixes were done

This guesthouse has surely seen better days in the past! Rooms are nice, but the swimming pool is half empty and dirty, without mentioning the bad condition of sun umbrellas and beds... breakfast is very and the staff is not addressing a word or a smile to the guests. The huge white beach in front is an open landfill site: such a pity!

Enjoyed my two nights in Podor at Sunu Keur . Clean, comfortable, colorful rooms, a lovely open courtyard, a spacious rooftop deck for evenings and strong wifi throughout the property. Management on site helpful, friendly and always available. Oh! liked that my laundry was cleaned and returned within 1/2 day. In this price category - highly recommend.

Centrally located but a bit shabby

Reviewed By DaSola

I stayed at Hotel du Palais instead of Hotel de La Poste because it was slightly cheaper and because I like to give smaller, lesser-know hotels a chance, as oftentimes they are much better and a great deal for the price. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case in this instance. The interior of the hotel, as well as my room, was shabby. Worse yet, my room didn't get cleaned at all while I was there. Breakfast was good, and there was a night receptionist who was friendly and was patient with my broken French, but otherwise the staff was distant. I recommend that you splurge and stay at the historic Hotel de La Poste. I kicked myself for not doing so. I also kicked myself for touring Langue de Barbarie with Djiby Tourisme, whose owner I met in the hotel's restaurant. The tour was expensive for what it was and there was no English-speaking guide.

Masterclass in hospitality

Jamm is a beautiful and welcoming boutique hotel. The owner is attentive and gracious, served evening cocktails, and joined for a truly delicious communal breakfast. The staff is friendly and warm and go out of their way to ensure your comfort. We visited a number of other hotels in the area and in Dakar and this was by far the best. We truly could not recommend more highly.
