No a/c however the three main rooms are well away from the road and direct sun, I did not even use the fan at night. The wonderful breakfast served on the beach is really special. Janine works tirelessly to make the place run well. What commitment, helpful to the guests, organising trips and an endless source of tourist information. What a superb host.

We are a small, ecologically oriented hotel and the North coast of the Dominican Republic, far away from mass tourism. Hotel is only 2 minutes walk to a wonderful Long Beach water crystal clear, really a paradise ! Rooms are very large and clean and breakfast served on the beautiful terrace is top! We were pleasantly surprised by the level of service, the cleanliness of the rooms, the quality of the restaurant and of course the unique beach. By far this is the best place north of Puerto Plata. I highly recommend everyone to have the experience of staying at this hotel.

Reviewed By cask3tsThis beach is absolutely gorgeous. It takes a boat ride which is not too pricey and they offer alcohol and fruit. You can also dive and snorkel in the same water. They offer a tour to the mangroves- also a must see. Do not go to DR and miss this gem!

Reviewed By Sylvia WDas Hotel Alfonsina mit seiner guten Lage in einer großzügig gestalten Gartenfläche bietet ohne Zweifel einen idealen Rückzugsort für Touristen, die sich Ruhe wünschen. Allerdings ist ein Auto fast ein Muß, um zum Beispiel in den ca. 3 km entfernten Ort mit einer Einkaufsmöglichkeit oder einem Restaurant zu gelangen. Auch der Weg zum Strand, ca 17min Fußweg, ließe sich per Auto besser bewältigen. Der Ausblick vom Balkon des geräumigen Zimmer, dem eine bessere Gepäckablage mehr Wohnqualität geben würde, reicht weit, da das Hotel eine Hanglage hat. Ein möglicher Nachteil war das sehr stark schwankende Internet, das vom freundlichen Personal immer wieder aktiviert wurde. Zum Frühstück wurde ausreichend frisches Obst, Saft, Kaffee oder Tee gereicht. Ich möchte in diesem Zusammenhang die sehr weitreichende Hilfe hervorheben, die ich vom Personal, insbesondere von Ariel und der Chefin erhielt, als ich einige Tage gesundheitliche Problemen hatte. Diese Hilfsbereitschaft verdient ein großes Lob. Der Strand mit guter Wasserqualität und einem ausgedehntem Flachwasserbereich ist besonders kinderfreundlich. Die Strandatmosphäre ist ganz auf lokales Publikum ausgerichtet. The Hotel Alfonsina with its good location in a spacious garden area undoubtedly offers an ideal retreat for tourists who want peace and quiet. However, a car is almost a must, for example to get to the town about 3 km away with a shop or a restaurant. Even the way to the beach, about 17 minutes on foot, could be mastered better by car. The view from the balcony of the spacious room, which a better luggage rack would give more quality of living, goes far since the hotel is on a hillside. A possible disadvantage was the very fluctuating Internet, which was activated again and again by the friendly staff. Sufficient fresh fruit, juice, coffee or tea was served for breakfast. In this connection I would like to emphasize the very extensive help that I received from the staff, in particular from Ariel and the boss, when I had health problems for a few days. This willingness to help deserves great praise. The beach with good water quality and an extensive shallow water area is particularly child-friendly. The beach atmosphere is geared towards local audiences, with dozens of stalls lined up, with typical maritime dining options. El Hotel Alfonsina, con su buena ubicación en una amplia zona ajardinada, ofrece sin duda un refugio ideal para los turistas que desean paz y tranquilidad. Sin embargo, un automóvil es casi imprescindible, por ejemplo, para llegar a la ciudad a unos 3 km de distancia con una tienda o un restaurante. Incluso el camino a la playa, a unos 17 minutos a pie, se puede llegar mejor en coche. La vista desde el balcón de la espaciosa habitación, que un mejor portaequipajes le daría más calidad de vida, va lejos ya que el hotel está en una ladera. Una posible desventaja era la muy fluctuante Internet, que fue activada una y otra vez por el amable personal. Se sirvió suficiente fruta fresca, jugo, café o té para el desayuno. En este contexto, me gustaría destacar la gran ayuda que recibí del personal, en particular de Ariel y la jefe, cuando tuve problemas de salud durante unos días. Esta disposición a ayudar merece grandes elogios. La playa con buena calidad de agua y una extensa área de aguas poco profundas es particularmente apta para niños. Tan sencillo como espectacular!
Reviewed By Diego NEstuvimos hospedados en esta casa/hotel una noche, y simplemente no nos queriamos ir, es muy sencillo pero tiene todo lo que se necesita para ir unos dias a la playa o cayo arena, logicamente ningun lujo pero lo necesario, y ante todo la ubicacion, esta encima de la mimisima playa, nos toco la habitacion No.2 y la vista era espectacular desde la misma cama, con un balconcito donde sentarse y disfrutar de la vista no tiene precio, Doña Lulu muy atenta, te ayudara para lo que necesites y te preparara el desayuno como mas te guste, sin lujos pero UNICO!!
