Horrible Experience
Reviewed By Shanntastical0428We stayed the night to fly out of Tahiti the next day. From the moment we checked in our experience was horrible. The front desk staff was rude and unhelpful. We booked a 6 person occupancy suite and they tried to charge us for additional occupants over 2 people. The rooms were in need of repair and we had to ask multiple times for towels and linens. There was a half used bar of soap in the bathroom and barely any toilet paper. We decided to go to the pool where, again the wait staff at the bar was rude and dismissive. Dinner was a disappointment as the food was bland and sub par. One of the guests in our party ordered a burger which was drenched in mayonnaise (which was not listed in the ingredient list) and when we asked for a burger with no Mayo we were told we had to purchase another dinner. It put a real damper on our evening and we couldn’t wait to leave. If you want to get a full night’s rest, this is not the place to stay at there are roosters in the trees that start growing at about 2:30 AM. We were grateful we only had one night there and definitely would not recommend!

Lovely pension
Reviewed By Robert BWe had a fine 3 day stay at Renais Fenua. Our room was comfortable and clean. Syrill helped us along the way and spoke enough English to make things work. The food is excellent, dinners are highly recommended. The baguette was superb,as was the wonderful fresh fruit served at breakfast. The charming gardens and small pool were a pleasant place to relax. This lovely pension is recommended for the budget conscious visitor who does not require great luxury and may not be fluent in French.

A little piece of paradise
Reviewed By StunningholidayClean, humble and reasonably priced with lovely personable hosts, this was a great place to stay and unwind. We had a beautiful pool surrounded by tropical fruit trees. Across the street was a lovely park snd beach in easy walking distance and next door, a little supermarket attached to the grocery store supplied wonderful French baked goods. Within a kilometre we’re more stores and little restaurants and everything one would ever need. No need for a car here and it’s a quick taxi ride to the airport.

The view is breathtaking and the suites were AMAZING! we had our own pool and a shower with the most gorgeous view. We went to a white sand beach close by and snorkeled. It was so beautiful with tons of tropical fish. Blue Banana was our favorite restaurant close by.

Good for 1 night transit
Reviewed By Gilles83190The hotel is managed by the hotel school. It is next to the airport and walking distance from the beach, up on the hill with a great view. The rooms and chalet are clean, confortable and spacious. The service and breakfast are correct. The few things they could improve are the shower grouting, the facade paint which is pealing and the access electric gate which is not easy to open.

Sise en bordure de plage, dans un jardin tropical sécurisé, la maison, toute en matériaux naturels, est néanmoins confortable, bien équipée (Tv, wifi, cuisine...) et décorée chic avec des oeuvres d'art polynésiennes. Accueil chaleureux : magnifiques bouquets de fleurs, plateaux de fruits... Pour profiter du lagon turquoise, des balades en kayak ou paddle, du snorkeling....tout en se ressourçant avec le "mana" des lieux...Les vacances à Tahiti comme on se l'imagine en tant que visiteur ! En tant que local résident à Tahiti ,vous trouverez l'atmosphère des îles à portée de la ville de Papeete. Endroit idéal en couple, avec des amis ou en famille...Restez plusieurs jours pour vraiment décompresser et apprécier le bruit des vagues sur le récif le soir après le 'happy hour" au coucher du soleil et avant le barbeque sur le deck sous les étoiles....

A small pension in an excellent beach location with a good restaurant
Reviewed By randaDeltaBCWe did extensive research before staying at Pension Armelle and we were not disappointed. We stayed at Pension Armelle for a week and we really enjoyed our time at this hotel. This is a small and simple pension but offers all that you need for a pleasant stay in Tahiti. Our room was large and comfortable, quiet, and also had a large open patio with comfortable seating to relax in the evenings. Its beach front location is superb - situated on what we regard as one of the best beaches on Tahiti. It has excellent swimming and snorkeling and the Pension provides free kayaks and paddle boards for their guests. Its view towards Moorea and the stunning sunsets are fantastic. The pension is close to and within walking distance for stores and restaurants as well as a good supermarket where you can buy food for picnics etc. The pension restaurant is very good. We ate at their restaurant every night and enjoyed a variety of well prepared dishes - as good or better than surrounding restaurants and much cheaper. Every day there is a different plat du jour at a reasonable price. Equally their beer and wine prices are also good. We also took advantage of using one of their rental cars to explore the island - available right at the pension for a reasonable price. When we left for the airport they provided transport - using one of their rental cars - at an excellent price even though it was very early in the morning. Tahiti is expensive but if you are looking for a good place to stay right on the beach and at a reasonable price then the Pension Armelle is where to stay.
