Reviewed By Ewan_makepeaceThe resort has only just reopened after a long shut down during the pandemic but is in surprisingly good shape and we spend a blissful few days there over Easter. It is easily my favourite resort on Nusa Lembongan. We were totally spoilt by the staff with buggy rides up the hill when we were lazy and a lovely romantic dinner with rose petals and candles. Since my last trip they have added a new spa which was excellent, a gym and a new lap pool higher up the hill. Also new - a Pontoon bar floating in the bay (not affiliated to the hotel) just by the nearest surf break which adds a new place to hang out.

Reviewed By RosM58Mahaloka Valley guest house comprises of 10 villas set amongst a thriving ,colourful and tropical garden. The villas are neat , nicely furnished, with an oversized kingbed made up with beautiful linen. They are air-conditioned, private with a balinese style pebbled and tiled, modern bathroom. Breakfast is included and I had the tastiest and most delicious banana and honey pancakes, with crispy edges and soft fluffy insides. They whole compound stands at the foot of lushly forested hills and is a haven to return to for lunch if desired or dinner, or to sleep or simply for a dip in their garden set pool. The owners are a Balinese couple, from both Nusa Penida and a Lombok childhood. They are warm and friendly, and Sri, is the designer of their beautiful, guesthouse garden. I To reach Crystal Bay Beach, the only swimmable beach on Nusa Penida, you can stroll along a cobbled and dirt road, being passed by an occasional motor scooter. You pass by a grove of young teak trees, with huge fleshy leaves, small fields of taro, a family of pigs, free ranging, chickens, banana trees, cows, cats, beautiful local butterflies, flitting shallows, small doves, dragon flies and a fat skink or 2. You will pass by a white walled, small village There is always something interesting going on in the street around and in the village. People pounding coconut, pork, sambal and sticky rice together, people sweeping, men and women sitting chatting and always a friendly local dog. There is a small warung and shop where you can eat Bakso for lunch and buy snacks and drinks. The walk is shady and peaceful and takes 10 to 15 minutes. We also ate dinners at Mahaloka Valley. The food was tasty and enjoyable. They have nice desserts too, like pisang Goreng with icecream!! If you want somewhere else to eat then stay for sunset at Crystal Bay Beach. There are several warungs serving tasty food and drinks. Bbqd corn was my favourite starter. If you come too late after sunset you might miss out. They close as soon as demand drys up. The guesthouse have a laundry service too. Falling asleep in my huge bed, I could smell fragipani on the evening breeze and the call of the gecko gecko . I highly recommend this lovely, quiet haven where no traffic can drive by and disturb you because it's at the end of the road. Utter peace!

Reviewed By Travel_freak_masWas worried the hotel wasn’t ready for business since covid dragging for so long. It is NOT. Room was sparkling clean, pool is clean and staff were friendly and helpful. If u prefer a place which is very closed to ferry terminal, so that u could immediately drop your luggage & go exploring. Also, grab your luggage on the last day and go terminal. Then this is the place I highly recommended.

But this morning when we were packing our bags and looking under the bed and as we were leaving I decided to post a review anyway. Let me start with the positive first. *The view is insanely beautiful (see photo). Most beautiful view we have ever had. *And the cottage is nice (see photo). *The ladies in the morning or evening are very friendly and customer focused. Okay now the negative, not to knock off the hotel. I just hope so much that they start working on it because it has great potential. *They have 15 cottages approximately. And only 4 sunbeds by the pool. Well here the sun goes down at 6 PM and what would be great to have a sunbed in front of your cottage on the beach and enjoy the evening. The 2 wooden chairs without pillows you do not keep long and go lie on the bed. *The sea Not as beautiful as the rest, lots of poles in the sea and little to no coral and poor visibility. *Okay about the cottage. The toilet (see photo) black mold a lot and when you flush, water comes out from under the toilet. *The shower also mold (see photo) *After a long day liters of sunburn to have smeared you hope to have a nice shower. But (see photo) they have a very small boiler so with them 2 we had to shower very quickly. *When we left we looked under the bed to see if anything had fallen under it. We were quite shocked (see photo). *They change the bed linen 1 time in 3 days. That did not happen so on the 4th day we asked for it. And yes they changed clean bed linen. Only weird thing is they didn't change the pillows. Then about the service. And especially about the men. *Hey weird but when we went there for dinner and it was dark they all had sunglasses on. Because of that you felt a distance or something. Very weird *Also just when leaving no saying hello or anything. Nothing not a word. Also not something like "I hope you had a pleasant stay" Nothing at all. *Breakfast was mediocre. And once burned (see photo) *And if you want to arrange a scooter through the owner, you will be severely put off. We arranged the scooter at the port for half his price and a bigger scooter too. *We had some dirty clothes. So we asked if they could arrange for it to be washed. They couldn't and we had to arrange it ourselves. (Every hotel we stayed in they did it right away) But afterwards we are glad because the towels smelled like gloor. We spent our vacation in Bali in 4 hotels and this was 1 of the more expensive ones. And had high expectations. The other hotels the service and friendliness and cleanliness was so much better. So we don't recommend staying here and look further. I also post the pictures with it so you can see it too. To end as a positive. *The ladies were super friendly and sweet and really tried their best. And I hope the owner reads this and takes care of it. Because what an amazing beautiful location with a view for which there are no words.

Reviewed By whitefish1This hotel sits 10 minutes from the harbor where most speed boats arrive and is located perfectly for road trips to the major tourist sights on the island. Also, within 10 minute walking distance you'll find a beach ideal for snorkeling. The staff was super firnedly. No passport check required. At one time there was a problem with the WIFI, the staff let us use the data from her cell phone. That is outstanding service. The hotel is very quiet and offers spacious rooms. As for the cons, there is no fridge in the room and WIFI can be unrealiable at times. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel.

Reviewed By miikkaahWe stayed here for my birthday in June 2021 and it was excellent. Such and unique place with with very nice surroundings and atmosphere. The staff and owner were nice and helpful. Breakfast (not included in the room price) was nice with different options. Would definitely stay here again. Please be aware that it’s made from bamboo and you’ll hear all the nature and hotel sounds very easily. Recommended for a a unique getaway!

Reviewed By Dave LThis place was so enjoyable and surprising, on arrival (my choice) to the lovely bungalows and overall serenity. The restaurant has amazing views, day or night, great meals and cold beer, the pool is beautiful and huge, clear and "cool". Bungalow/bedroom was neat n tidy, big bathroom. Reasonably steep entry and pathways but quite ok. feel like in the middle of jungle. Would definitely return to this place
