Park House Hotel & Spa

Perfect weekend away

Reviewed By kellyeQ156YY

First time visit at this beautiful hotel. My husband and I decided on a weekend break. Excellent service, staff were very friendly. Spa facilities were exceptional. Had a treatment and was very relaxing (well worth it). The weather was lovely and we made good use of the amenities. The food and wine was excellent. We stayed in a superior room and it was comfortable, clean and tidy. The staff made us feel very welcome. We would definitely recommend this hotel and will be returning again. Park House is above and beyond any chain hotel we have stayed in.

Special birthday celebration

Reviewed By kbS9250WS

My partner booked us a stay for my birthday. We were upgraded to the Courtyard Suite and there were flowers and sparkling wine in the room on arrival. The room was immaculate. Only downside was the scaffolding due to maintenance required on the roof. The spa and treatments were lovely, very clean and not too busy so there was space to relax. We were well looked after by staff during our stay and we will be returning again soon.

The Swan Inn

A country Inn with superb bar and 6 en-suite bedrooms. We are near all the restaurants and bars in Midhurst and a short stroll from the ruins of Cowdray Park. We are also in a great position if you are attending Goodwood. A perfect base for visiting Arundel and the surrounding areas.

A poor night’s stay at the Swan.

Stayed for one night recently whilst walking the South Downs Way. Hoped to eat there based on previous reviews. But at check in was told that there was no food offering. Ok, not a problem as there are numerous other places to eat in Midhurst. But this also meant that there was no breakfast provided either - other than at Gartons over the road. But I couldn’t use Gartons as I had a taxi booked and there wouldn’t have been enough time to order breakfast and to eat. I really would have like to have known this in advance. Regarding the inn itself, the room was freezing cold with no heating and the walls were paper thin. I could hear every word of the people ‘next door’ until they decided to go to sleep at 12.30am! Overall, a poor experience and I can’t recommend.

Get Mediocre, Pay Optimum.

The scarcity of accommodation in this locality means that - choose your own metaphor here - you can pay an arm & a leg, or through the nose(bag) to stay in this tired establishment. Earplugs come free with rooms that face the road but no bottled water or flannels, and take a look at the pipe on the bathroom wall that passes for a shower in the "honeymoon suite". Bring your own device if want to stream TV, as their ancient screens only provide Freeview circa 2005. Breakfast was Ok with sausage & bacon sourced from a superior butcher, but given that 1 egg is hard to scramble, it would have been nice to have been offered an option for 2 when fried. Stay here when there's no Polo at Cowdray Park or racing at Goodwood, and there's a small chance that you might feel that you paid for something worthwhile.

Hamilton Arms Suites

Excellent accommodation.

Very well-appointed and spacious rooms behind the pub. All on the ground floor with fee parking right outside. Large, very comfortable rooms with all mod cons - proper coffee machine, TV, fridge, wi-fi - and especially good beds, bed linen and towels, Great shower room, with large walk-in shower. We didn’t eat in the Thai restaurant, as we were visiting relatives. But the hamper in the room containing continental breakfast was very good. Ideal for what we needed and I can recommend.

Fabulous Food and friendly service

We wanted a new place to try that was the midpoint to meet up with friends. We looked at some reviews and selected the Blue Bell for lunch last Sunday. We were all very satisfied with the warmth of the welcome, the selection on offer and the excellent food. Although the desserts looked tasty, the reasonable sized meals which we enjoyed meant that we didn't try these on this occasion. I would thoroughly recommend the Blue Bell and intend to re-visit.

Everything the quintessential English B&B should be. Served tea in the garden on arrival even though there was a power outage in the area. The 17 century house sits in a very quiet idyllic location. The rooms were great, my shower was huge. The full English breakfast was wonderful and was served in a beautiful conservatory where I could watch the deer prance by the window. And the grayhound pub is a few steps away, overall a very enjoyable stay. Matilda is a wonderful host!

Excellent place to stay

Reviewed By Robert N

We have just spent a week at this B and B. We stayed in the double room in the main house. Pear Tree Cottage B and B suited our needs perfectly. It is very close to the town centre, the main street is literally 20 seconds walk away. Midhurst is a delightful little town, very busy by day but almost deserted at night and very quiet for sleep purposes. There are nice places to eat and a couple of good delicatessen. The room is large, with a large and very comfy bed. The room contains a kitchen area complete with fridge, microwave and toaster. The arrangement is that you take your breakfast in your room. Phil keeps the fridge well stocked with breakfast items. It suited us perfectly. There is ample parking. Midhurst was ideally situated for the attractions we planned to visit. Nowhere was more than half an hours drive away, some less than that. So the National Trust places at Uppark and Petworth, Fishbourne Roman Palace , the Weald and Dowland and Amberley Museums, Arundel Castle all had visits. We even packed in two shows at Chichester Frstival Theatre. Phil was a very friendly and attentive host. All in all, somewhere I would highly recommend.
