New luxury in a remote part of Greece
Reviewed By stephanos99Getting to Meganisi is a bit of an adventure, since it involves a bumpy and curvy road just to get to the nearby larger island of Lefkada, and then jump on a small car/passenger ferry to the small port of Spillia on Meganisi. A new luxury lodging option on the island (as of summer of 2021) is Azur Retreat. It's very private (only 18 rooms), and each room has its own swimming pool (room price goes up based on the size of the pool, with the smallest starting at about the size of a 2-3 person tub), a decent amount of privacy (some more than others), and a phenomenal view! All rooms are set up for only 2 people, basically making this an adult resort. Service was excellent, the rooms were nicely appointed and very clean. The only drawback is that depending on what level your room is on (they are on 5 levels), you may have quite some walking to do to get to your room, and to get down to meals or to go into town. The little nearby town of Vathi is a short walk away, and has plenty of restaurants on the waterfront. We would definitely stay here again if we found ourselves back in Meganisi.

A few meters away from the sea, Mistral Boutique Hotel in Vathy Village offers rooms that open to a balcony with Ionian Sea views. Free WiFi is available in public areas. Rooms are provided with a TV and air conditioning. Complete with a refrigerator, the dining area also has an electric kettle. Featuring a bath or shower, private bathrooms also come with towels. At Mistral you will find a garden, bar and Greek restaurant. Other facilities offered include a shared lounge and outdoor sitting area. The Meganisi island is regularly connected with Nydri Town by ferry.

Reviewed By kalchris2119Η κυρια ελευθερία ειναι πολυ ανοιχτός ανθρωπος! Τα δωματια περιποιημενα, καθαρα, καθως και η πισίνα. Λογω covid,δεν καθάρισε το δωματιο στις 3 μερες διαμονής. Μας κέρασε γλυκά λογω της γιορτής των παιδιων (της Παναγίας)!! Μονο που μας άγχωσε την ημέρα της αναχωριση μας οτι γίνεται χαμός στο λιμανι και φυγαμε βιαστικά και ειμασταν τριτη στη σειρα!!!

Reviewed By Iain CWonderful place, magnificent views. Lovely villa (Althea) with fantastic pool and great outside eating area (despite the wasps!) Tanya who looked after the complex was wonderful, helpful and friendly. Lovely Island but roads !!!!!!!! so drive carefully.Would love to return. We had no Wifi, not sure why it says available.

Reviewed By yx mAn dieser Stelle befinden sich nicht die Nema Villas sondern Meganisi Villas. Vorsicht: diesen Namen gibt es mehrfach auf Meganisi. Einmal bei Katomeri, einmal an der eingezeichneten Stelle unweit Spilia. Letztere ist großartig.

L'appartamento è pulitissimo e dotato di ogni comfort : aria condizionata in tutte le stanze, servizi di pulizia e cambio biancheria, stoviglie (addirittura macchina per il caffè), asse da stiro con ferro da stiro ecc. La signora è molto cordiale, disponibile ma molto discreta. Lo consiglio

Perfect beaches and stunning sunsets
Reviewed By claudigan200Went to Lefkada with Ionian and Aegean Island Holidays. The organisation was faultless - super BA charts flight and someone to meet us and help pick up the hire car at Preveza. Easy drive down to the villa on Lefkada (a causeway meant that no ferry trip necessary). The villa was beautiful- brand new fixtures and fittings and lots of thoughtful touches. The rep from Ionian came round with a map and talked us through the sites and gave us some top tips about when to go to places to avoid the crowds. Only a short drive to a very large but popular and crowded beach backed by lots of bars and restaurants- would be nice for a young and lively crowd but we lreferred the more peaceful surroundings of Agios Nikitas- a lovely fishing town with lots of beachside tavernas and a little fleet of water taxis that take you around to a less busy, much more spectacular beach (Milos beach). The water is the most beautiful colour and clear and clean. Agios Nikitas is only about 5 mins drive from the villa and if you get there before 10, free parking is available. Neither the villa nor the local beaches are suitable for young children - the pool has no fencing and there are steep steps/drops around the house. The beaches on the west coast are exposed to the wind and shelve quite steeply. There were people there with children aged about 10 upwards but not many really little kids. I can’t recommend this tour operator highly enough - we had a fabulous time.

Reviewed By Thanasis76Πολύ ακριβό για αυτά που προσφέρει. Πάρα πολυ βρώμικο. Πολύ μικρά δωμάτια. Χρειάζεται οπωσδήποτε αυτοκίνητο για να πάει κανείς στο Βαθύ. Η ιδιοκτήτρια ήταν ευγενική αλλά μπορούσε κανείς να καταλάβει ότι τα δωμάτια δεν θα ήταν καθαρά μόνο και μόνο λόγω της ιδιοκτήτριας. Καλυτερα να κοιμηθείτε σε κάποια παραλία παρά σε αυτά τα δωμάτια. Ένα έχω να σας πω. Μακριά, ιδίως αν έχετε μικρά παιδιά.
