Nice place but you must have car or boat to go to Valdivia
Reviewed By 956bengtlThe place is quite nice with big comfortable rooms. It is very tranquil as it is on the "wrong" side of the river. Valdivia Town is on the opposite side. The hotel has a restaurant but it did not make me "happy". Service is good but the food is ordinary or even below ordinary.

The hotel offers rooms overlooking the Canal Haverbeck, equipped with plasma TV, free Wi-Fi, breakfast and a welcome drink, also has a large garden with pool and terrace overlooking the Valdivia river. Reviewed By stella317If you’re looking for a nice venue for a small wedding on a warm sunny day, this is a great waterside one. But if you’re staying in Valdivia, this hotel is a bit too far out and is in need of renovation. Bedrooms are mostly, if not all, in separate blocks. Ours faced the water but had additional windows to gather the street noise. The main windows fitted very badly and as it was a cold and stormy night the room was very draughty. There was no heating until after 6:30pm and it was off again three hours later, apparently the same timing on cold days as on hot ones. Furniture was functional rather than comfortable but with water stains from decades of use. The furniture in the lobby lounge was similarly faded. At least our bed was comfortable and the place was clean. Elsewhere, the signs of neglect were plentiful. A cracked glass block wall with a hole in and broken paving at the hotel entrance for example. The money has clearly gone on the new waterside decking to the detriment of the rest of the hotel. We did have two good dinners in the quiet restaurant (there aren’t any decent restaurants in the vicinity) but the breakfast equalled the worst we have had in Chile. Staff were pleasant. I don’t know how Nagulian has reached a high ‘value for money’ ranking and I would not book there again.

It's a good but quiet central location and within easy walking distance from/to the bus terminal and the town centre. My room (417) was comfortable, spacious and light with windows on two sides. A reasonable buffet breakfast was included and the hotel had good WiFi throughout.

It is located in the Beautiful Huilo Huilo park. we have seen many hotels and other types of accommodation around that Park. This is an exceptionally good deal. Beautiful new and well-equipped cabins, in a gorgeous area, just behind the river. I strongly recommend that if you stay here (and we strongly recommend it!), ask for one of the cabins by the river. there are a few of those, that the back porch, and view from the windows of the bedroom and living room, or facing a beautiful and peaceful River. This is not a bed and breakfast place. But, if you're looking for a gorgeous cabin, for an excellent price, in a beautiful surrounding, this is a place for you.

Decent rooms and helpful, if slow, staff
Reviewed By KatrienS955Everything was a bit slow in this hostal, but the staff were very helpful in giving information about public transports and attractions. The hostal is quite far from the centre of the town, further than the bus terminal. However, there is lots and good public transport passing in front. The room was ok, but one needs to pay extra for towels, as was the bathroom. The breakfast was typical Chilean, rather basic, but of good quality. The reception has limited opening hours. Wifi worked well and was reliable.

Nice, quaint, and clean place to stay
Reviewed By Borinquen61Our room was small but all we needed since we were usually only there to sleep. It faced a street that was pretty busy during the day, but quieted down at night. We had a view of the river which was nice. Along the river we found food trucks and craft vendors. All very enjoyable. The breakfast buffet included bread, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, cheese and a small variety of meats, as well as coffee, tea, and juice. The staff at the hostel was extremely helpful and very friendly. Would definitely recommend this place. (We did have to go upstairs to our rooms. Not sure if they have ground floor rooms.)

Reviewed By MikeV84This apart hotel on a terrain enclosed by a fence offers clean and comfortable rooms, that are, however, a bit on the small side. It's well located, within walking distance from the Costanera and the central square. Private parking included. Breakfast is rather nice.
