Reviewed By SH-XsplorinThe Winklewerkstatt is a fantastic hotel, so close to 5*'s. I really enjoyed our stay and would recommend fully. I shared with my brother, so had two single beds. They were tiny to say the least. Turning over to evade his snoring was very difficult without falling out of bed. I was willing to forgive them, when breakfast was served, as it was perfect... Except no Espresso machine... That's why I rated... However, would I recommend... 100%. Will be going back if in the area. Just book a double room.

Nice modern hotel on the mosel
Reviewed By mikezensThe hotel looks a bit old fashioned from the outside, but was recently renovated by the young couple that runs the hotel. So rooms are very modern and cozy. Bathrooms are nice bright and clean. Despite Corona restriction a very creative way of enjoying breakfast was introduced, so in a way you had a full selection of breakfast items. They also have a restaurant with a nice terrace. Food is good German food at reasonable prices. The young lady who tuns the hotel is very friendly and helpful. The rooms direction Mosel enjoy a great view, but there us still a street between the hotel and the Mosel river, which does not have a lot of traffic but still some traffic at night.

Reviewed By Joeri MFirst of all its just a wonderful hotel, beautiful decorated, nice location and a wine bar at your disposal. But the succes of a hotel comes not only with the looks but also with the service. Happy to say that the service was excellent. A very warm and personal welcome, helpful ( renting of a bike was not possible on sunday so they offered me their bicycle ), a breakfast that offers you everything you want, safe place to park your car, .. So I can only recommend Karolingerhof to everybody.

Reviewed By Birie_88We had a lovely and relaxing stay. The area is quiet, nice to bike and walk. Mai and Hans are the most charming hosts and gave us good advice about the area and restaurants. The breakfast was delicious and changing every day. The room was spacious, a lot of light, loved the shower and the bed! Nice garden where we enjoyed the sun for a couple of hours (there are even hammocks).

Luxury in the Mosel
Reviewed By Bumbleboothis is the second time we have chosen this Guesthouse. The first time was about 4 years ago and we were the first guests and although the renovations were not quite finished our room was excellent. This time we were shown the new rooms and they were top quality in luxury and comfort. One room even had its own sauna! Another a huge roll top bath in the centre of a large bathroom. Our room was supplied with a huge shower and the overhead shower head was about 20 ins square, it was a delight to shower in! A second shower was also supplied. The furnishings were top class, every bit 5 star. Breakfast was everything you could want and more if you asked for anything in particular. There was no evening meal supplied as yet since this village being small really only attracts custom at weekends. There are restaurants and wine bars (in abundance!). This is a famous wine region and one can purchase excellent wine at low cost.

Reviewed By Christian WThe venue is located on the main street. We didn't sleep there and had dinner only. They have inside and outside dining. I would recommend the outside dining if the weather allows it. I had oysters as first course which were really good and then pork cheeks which were delicious. On the side we had local white wine which was good. The service was quick and charming.

Das Frühstück ist ausgezeichnet mit einer frischen (Körner-)Brötchen, Müsli, selbstgemachter Marmelade, diversen Käse- und Wurssorten. Überdachte Stellplätze für das Auto sind ebenfalls vorhanden. Die Gastgeber sind äußerst nett und herzlich.

Here we got to taste different wonderfull wines, to our taste. Alongside the owner offered expertice about each wein, and even told some of the history of the region. He was truly engaged, and so fun. An absolut amazing experience! Definetly worth the visit!

A beautiful location - our spacious room, No' 1, had a balcony overlooking the Mosel, and the whole place was well appointed and spotlessly clean. Fresh tasty breakfast, and friendly, helpful staff too. There is no bar, but there is a fridge on the ground floor working on the honesty principle, with chilled local wine and beer at extremely good prices - €6.50 average for excellent wine. With glasses in the room and a beautiful view, who needs to go out for a drink? When you do go out for dinner, it's an easy short walk into town where there's a good variety of local restaurants, or a short drive to places like Bernkastel for an even wider choice. Thoroughly recommended, and at around £55 per night for the two of us including breakfast, fabulous value too. The only possible downside I would point out is that the property has a spiral staircase to the upper floors, which might prove awkward for those of restricted mobility
