Reviewed By kates1996We have spent the past 10 days at Mayia and we absolutely loved it. Devastated to be home! From the moment we got there we felt like royalty, drink on arrival, someone helped take our bags to our room, the gentleman gave us some advice on things to do and places to see, we arrived late at night so there was two plates of food left for us in our room. We stayed in a deluxe swim up room with sea view, we were to the right of the hotel we would say the most perfect location. Close the pools, close to the bar, close to reception and close to the restaurants. The room was always kept immaculately clean, the cleaners every day were so lovely and thorough. The bed was the biggest most comfy bed we have ever had. The mini bar was stocked daily with a range of drinks, alcohol and snacks. This was a really nice touch. The swim up pool was fantastic, was nice to chill by the room and sunbathe. The shower in the bedroom was amazing too, really powerful and came with lots of toiletries. The restaurants here were impeccable. We loved the wasabi, the choice of Asian dishes were so good. (Book as soon as you can as it fills fast) The Italian server nicer food than we had when we recently went to Rome. The pizza is stunning. The Greek restaurant was much nicer than we thought it would. The service in all 3 was first class. The food hall by the pool was such a nice touch, you can have burger/wraps/salads/sandwiches/ice cream/crepes and much more. To have this option was really good. We ate in various places every day and we were never let down by any of them. The main food restaurant, you get greeted by two lovely ladies who are always so welcoming and elegantly walk you to your table, the waiters/waitresses were always so polite and helpful. The food was different every night but there was always something you’d like. The choice of meats and salad is really good. The deserts are incredible. It’s spotlessly clean there and nothing was too much for anyone. The pools were incredible. Two massive pools, always choice of sunbeds which is good. I take my hat off to the waiters around the pool, they were always checking to make sure you had something to drink, always asking if you needed anything. They were constantly on the go and so polite through it all. We really loved the guy who was serving the drinks by the pool on the left (by the Italian restaurant) The beach is a 2 minute walk from the hotel and they offer for a charge options of jet skis, boat hire, paddle boarding and various things. We done the jet skis twice and hired a boat to go and see Lindos. Highly recommend both of these. The views we saw when we hired the boat were insane. The nicest views ever. The staff working on the beach were super friendly and welcoming too. The all inclusive cocktails were lush! Normally in all inclusive your drinks are watered down and not very nice but in Mayia they were incredible. We loved the tropical dream cocktail, that was soooo nice!! In the evenings we would sit by the main bar near reception and the waiter who was serving us was sooooo lovely, he was new but was doing a fantastic job. Overall, the staff are incredible. So attentive. So friendly and so welcoming. Every time we saw a waiter, a cleaner or any member of the team they would say hello to us and we loved it. The hotel is out of this world, we could not pick a fault. Normally you go somewhere and there is something you don’t like or something you can pick up on, not here. Everything and I mean everything was incredible. We absolutely loved it and can’t wait to come back.

Reviewed By TeamMcCabe319I write this as an honest opinion of our stay and we've stayed in many hotels, this has to be the worst. Firstly the restaurant, it isn't a restaurant its a noisy, hectic canteen. You have to que every morning to be seated and when you are there are dirty plates stacked up on trolleys with waiters desperately trying to clear and clean as can't keep up with demand, tables are sticky and waiters are unhappy. I honestly have never been anywhere where the staff dislike their job so much, they need more staff and Labranda need to look after them. God knows why they're still wearing masks as noone in nearby resorts are, not to protect guests as no guests wearing them, probably to stop them being off sick. Secondly the food, my kids and I eat anything but we appreciate nice food. Food is cooked for the masses and replaced intermittently throughout the morning, it's poor quality and you invariably have to search for a spoon, bowl, plate as the can't wash them quick enough. Food is generally mass produced convenience food. There is no personal service, wine is warm, coffee is bitter and anything nice you have to pay extra for ie fresh orange juice Thirdly the pool area, dirty floor, loungers and dirt ring around pool. I saw someone brushing around the pool one morning but never cleaned properly with water. My boys eyes hurt with the chlorine. Majority of people smoke here, that's fine but we don't, my son saw someone flick a cigarette into pool at pool bar whilst he was swimming, also my eldest put his hand in chewing gum at side of pool. The ploy giving you tokens so you return your glasses to bar is great as saves them having to employ another member of staff. The list goes on tbh, but TUI have majorly let themselves down here, we won't go with them ever again. it definitely depends on what standards you expect, but we like a little luxury. If you have booked my advice is hire a car and see the island.

From the moment we checked in till we left we were treated with wonderful smiles from helpful, attentive staff. Elizabeth in the cocktail bar, gave wonderful professional and kind service, she is a real gem and works so hard to look after everyone. My wife has dietary restrictions, we found all the restaurant staff very helpful especially Irene who took wonderful care to make sure my wife was well looked after, she introduced us to the sous chef (sorry I didn’t get his name) a lovely man who met with my wife at every meal, going through the buffet and supervising the cooking of her food when we dined at the a la carte restaurants. Overall the staff at this hotel are superb, and I can highly recommend Mitsis Rodos Maris, you will not be disappointed. Gerard Ireland

Avoid if you are a young woman or a family with young daughter
Reviewed By ctay99Had no issues the entire stay until my friend and I were sunbathing by the pool as we had done most days, we were applying our suntan lotion whilst on our sunloungers when a young couple kindly came up to us and told us that an older gentleman and his wife that were sat behind us were filming us and that they felt that they had to tell us, it made them feel extremely uncomfortable to the point that they moved away. My friend and I are in our early twenties and felt completely vulnerable and unsure about what to do, the couple that notified us spoke to the hotel staff explaining what had happened and the hotel staff's response was ' we cannot police it if you want to deal with it, it is up to you to confront him'. My friend and I no longer felt safe and felt completely let down by the hotel. The fact that they would not police inappropriate behavior on their own property is disgusting, there were a lot of children and young women on their holiday at the hotel which I now felt concerned for, to the point that we notified young women sitting near the man who had taken the photos, of what had happened. I do worry about where that video has gone, what he will do with it, and if it will happen again to other young women at this hotel. Please avoid it if you are a young woman or a family with young daughters as this hotel will not protect them.

Worst ‘Welcome’ Ever!
Reviewed By Anne1483I have been to Rhodes many times as my son in law is from there, always have had a lovely warm welcome wherever I have stayed. I decided to book this accommodation on reading the good reviews as it was not far from the hotel my daughter and son in law had booked months earlier, but was now full so I couldn’t stay with them. On arriving at 11.30pm after a 6 hour journey, (I had previously emailed them to say it would be late) the first thing the lady who greeted us said - in Greek - was that I hadn’t paid. Thankfully my son-in-law was with me and could tell me what she was saying, I explained that I had booked through Expedia and hadn’t they paid her? No, she wanted the cash she said, I found my booking information and showed her that it said that Expedia had forwarded on my card details for her to take a deposit or for payment to be taken DURING my stay - but if she wanted the cash, now…. could she wait until the morning as we were all very tired and my daughter and family still had to go and check in at their hotel - I walk with a stick and am 66 and didn’t fancy looking for a cashpoint at that time of night. All she had to do was hold on to my passport until I had paid her, but no - she wanted the cash now because a previous guest had left without paying apparently. During this conversation with my son in law, she phoned her son who said we were to leave!!!!!! She handed the phone to my son in law - but he then looked shocked and handed it back to her because her son refused to speak to him and had put the phone down! I sat on the edge of the bed and could have cried… I gave my son in law my card and said go and find a cash point so we can settle this now, which he did, he was gone about 20 minutes …during which time my daughter was looking to see if there were any nearby accommodation as she didn’t want me staying there after this most unfriendly exchange, but all appeared to be full. I had to ask her for a receipt and she just gave me a handwritten one which was not on headed paper. Once she had the cash, I thought that would be that but as my daughter was about to leave I noticed there was no kettle in the room as advertised, as I was desperate for a cup of tea or coffee, there was not even a stove top to heat water in a saucepan…. when asked if I could have a kettle she just shrugged and said ‘tomorrow’. At 4am, just after I had finally got to sleep I was woken up by the sound of gushing water in the bathroom and when I looked the loo was ‘flushing’ all by itself and water was coming up through the drain outlets in the floor. This continued all night, I just put some towels down and closed the door as no way was I going to wander round looking for someone at that time of night. There was no phone to any sort of Reception desk. In the morning my daughter and son in law came to collect me as we had planned a day out and I asked my son in law to tell her about the toilet - she then accused us of breaking it! I didn’t even bother asking what he had replied to her but reminded him to ask for a kettle again. “Later” she said. On our return she came in with a receipt book and said I could have a refund if I paid 70 euros for the night I had stayed! I just looked at her - I hadn’t even asked for a refund at all and anyway, it was only 44 euros a night? I was heartily sick of all this now and said no - I have paid you the full amount for the week, I will stay for the week as planned and can I have a kettle please as you have advertised? Again she said “later”…. To sum all this up - I never got the kettle, so could never have a hot drink or heat anything up while I was there. There was a frying pan in the cupboard, a couple of saucepans but no where to use them. There were mugs in the drawer but for what I don’t know. There was a fridge and a sink unit. The TV was very nice, fixed to the wall but I could get no more than the one channel on it. The ‘complimentary’ toiletries as advertised was a dispenser of hand soap and half a toilet roll. The daily maid service as advertised appeared once during the week and replenished the toilet roll and changed the sheets and towels, which were very white and clean. The room was very plain, just a double bed (I had booked two singles but no matter) two small bedside tables and two lamps, one of which did not work. A wooden chair and a cupboard with a high rail. No drawers. No decoration of any kind such as a picture or two. The air conditioning was good as was the wifi. I do not know what the beach across the road was like as I didn’t want to go on my own as I had been made to feel like a criminal and very unwelcome. I can understand how awful it must be to have non paying guests - but that was not me or my fault, so why not just hold my passport until the morning when I would have paid? And WHY offer a refund when I hadn’t asked for one? This along with the refusal to supply the kettle, the accusation of breaking the toilet (which by the way was not broken but just the plunger sticking, we later realised) made me feel very unwelcome and for the life of me I don’t know why, as it started from the minute we arrived. For the second week of my holiday, I stayed in the Mitsis La Vita Rhodes - again booked through Expedia and there was no problem whatsoever, it was cheaper AND with half board…. plus a very welcome kettle!

Great place to stay!
Reviewed By dougframeWe were very surprised by the spacious room and it was very clean and fully equipped with everything we needed. The owners were lovely and spoilt us with grapes and preserves home made from fruits from their green. The garden was beautiful with pomegranate trees, lime trees and windmills :) Only 5 minutes walk from both the beach and the supermarket and the bus stop is less than a minute from the accommodation should you want to explore the rest of the island. We wil definitely book again.
