One of the best hotel experience I have had

Reviewed By Kelvin K

I am a frequent traveler and I experienced an amazing time at Intercontinental Phuket. From check in till out, every little details were considered. From room setup, mini bars, program planning, transportation and even taking care of my grab deliveries. The staff are always available to tend to my queries and go the extra mile to take care of us. Dining, even when they do not serve the food my kids asked for, the chef would who up something for them. I’m amazed and is looking forward to returning again.

Thavorn Beach Village Resort & Spa

If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind luxury experience, then you've come to the right place. We are a true oceanfront luxury resort right in the middle of Kamala and Patong Beaches (5-mins drive away). Both Kamala and Patong Beaches are not within short walking distance. Thavorn Beach Village Resort & Spa has one of Phuket's last remaining unspoiled private beaches (over 600 metres long) and several highly unique features. We have a 4,000 square metre free-form Lagoon Swimming Pool, one of the largest in South East Asia, 14 acres of orchid and tropical gardens, a hillside Cable Car, a world class Spa, unique Romantic Dining experiences, a pier, and Phuket's first privately funded coral conservation centre. This secluded beach and tropical oasis awaits you. Please be noticed that Nakalay Beach's appearance, atmosphere, and accessibility changes significantly during low and high tide. During low tide, prehistoric coral remains become visible making the beach not conducive for swimming. Guests who purchase any product from Thavorn Beach Village Resort & Spa or from any of its affiliated businesses acknowledges this fact before making the purchase. Any complaints or request for refund regarding this issue will not be subsequently entertained.

Beautiful, peaceful and private beach a plus

Reviewed By 1968Monkey

This is a magical resort set by a private beach, surrounded by nature, birds chirping, turtles and other wildlife and the most amazing pool with lots of artistic works of art through sculptures and statues, both of wildlife and gods/deities. The pool shower, which is to be used before entering the pool to remove any excess creams or lotions, is of a part elephant, part man structure. My room/bungalow has a great view of the beach without being directly on it. The room was set up immaculately with a personal touch for the celebration of my 20th Wedding Anniversary with 2 bath towel swans in a love heart shape and rose petals, also in a love heart shape. The bungalow has a large king sized bed, wall attached tv, a chaise lounge, balcony, desk, dressing table with hairdryer and ample space for any items, wardrobe, fridge and coffee/tea making area, a western style toilet with bidet and a huge bathroom the size of most double sized bedrooms. Everything is immaculately cleaned except for the balcony area which contains a notice "keep your terrace clean as you wish". All the regular toiletries you'd get at most hotels is included, plus dressing gowns and a couple of floor slipper/thongs for use in the rooms. I recommend taking a package that includes breakfast (buffet), there is a lot to choose from, and breakfast lasts from 7am to 10am. A lunch/dinner menu then exists from 11am to 10pm. The prices for that menu are comparable to prices that I would expect in Australia for a lunch menu. The food is well made and very tasty. I have concentrated mostly on having traditional Thai dishes so I cannot comment on their Western style menu, but they do have a variety of pasta, pizza and focaccia style food on offer. For cheaper food options at dinnertime a lot of people order via Grab food and Panda. There is a lot of this form of traffic in the driveway at night. The local area food is approximately three times cheaper than the restaurant menu. There is a ban on these sorts of services delivering alcohol however, so either pick this stuff up yourself whilst out, or just use the bar in the restaurant. There is a restaurant (Marisa), a bakery and some beach side places for food and drinks. The beach side places were not open whilst we were here. This was unfortunate because I was looking forward to the swim up bar, but it was closed the whole time we were here. There was also supposed to be another restaurant on site but it was also closed. These may open up once the tourist trade picks up a bit more. There is options to have romantic dinners on the beach where they set up a variety of lights and other decorations for a memorable and intimate space; particularly good for anyone celebrating something significant or even for marriage proposals. You will pay 350 baht for cocktails which is more expensive than other places in Phuket, and the wine menu is even moreso. The cocktails are well made though. As I am travelling here in the wet season I have particularly enjoyed having a cocktail on the private beach and watch the thunder and lightening shows of an evening. There is views over to Patong Beach and at approximately 9pm if you are looking at the right time you can occasionally see a firework lit. On the beach there are a variety of 'instagramable' furniture items, such as swings and a stairway to nowhere. There are also places to sit in the pool area for that perfect selfie. The beach at high tide is a beautiful sandy ocean front, but at low tide it reveals a very rocky area for quite a way out, so if swimming at high tide be aware that the sea floor is rocky and sharp; water shoes a must. It would make for great snorkelling as it is just the right kind of environment for fish. The hotel also offers up scuba diving courses and opportunities. There is a long pier to one side, however during our stay it was closed and inaccessible. When you arrive at the hotel you will leave your luggage at the driveway, go to the lobby to check in, and when you return to your luggage it will be put into a hotel tuk tuk which will then drive you to your accommodation. This is based on having a beach side residence, so Im not sure what happens if you are staying in one of the hill side accommodations. They have the regular door hangers such as "make up my room" and "do not disturb", but they also have another one which is for not having the room done up, and when you place this up the housekeeping staff not only do not do up your room, but you are offered a 150 baht voucher to use elsewhere at the hotel.

Keemala

Keemala harnesses the history of fictitious ancient Phuket settlers and incorporates the story of four different clans within the resort. Keemala’s style blends the indigenous stories of the clans with the decadence of an upscale resort. The architecture is a stark contrast to most hotel accommodation. Keemala’s fantastic cottages, tree houses and pool villas are designed around the unique topographical conditions. Set into the hillside and making use of slopes offering sea views, streams, waterfalls and indigenous trees. A significant part of the Keemala ethos is to celebrate and cultivate Thai culture. This is strongly perceived in the spa. Treatments and wellness programs are being meticulously designed to utilize bygone techniques, natural herbs used as medicinal remedies in conjunction with old-fashioned pampering. The eight treatment rooms will offer a haven of renewal and the spa will also offer a Thai massage pavilion, steam and sauna rooms along with a fitness room with views of the sea and lush topography, yoga and meditation spaces making Keemala an ideal destination for retreats. As an extension of the wholesome spirit of Keemala, cuisine offered will also be organic and locally sourced and grown where possible. The menus will incorporate healthy, nutritious and above all delicious meals. Keemala will offer three outlets for dining, the main restaurant, a pool bar, a smaller wine cellar ideal for small parties and meetings and destination dining will be offered to those guests who would like to enjoy the ambience of somewhere distinct, perhaps beside the waterfall, in a separate sala in the grounds or in the comfort of the villa or cottage.

Hi, this may be a old hotel but it's good not great. Menu has a small selection and after 10 days you get bored. There is no entertainment to speak of. It would be great if the roof top bar had some music. If you want complete piece and quite this is the place to come. Doesn't really cater for the young at all. MY flight isn't till 10.30 pm and have to check out at 12. They wouldn't even let me shower in a vacant room without paying for a extra night, that's really sad. I never got this treatment in any of the Bali resorts. customer service meh ! I doubt that I'll be back.

This place is absolutely amazing! Yes it is more expensive than most of the other options in Phuket but it is definitely worth it! It is an exceptional experience! The 1 room villa with private pool is very comfortable, cosy and very private. The scenery is also one of a kind with a hotel guest only beach. The staff are super helpful and well trained too! I proposed to my girlfriend and we both had a blast! I am glad that I chose this place. A huge shout out the the event manager Ms. Ornanong (Ann). She is super caring and went out of her way to make sure the wedding proposal goes well. She even printed a photo (with photo frame) for us out of her own pocket and we are now friends! My fiance said the spa here is also the best one she ever had. This is definitely a place we will remember for lifetime

A beautiful hotel - one of the best I’ve ever stayed in. Loved the modern design, great location right on the beach, excellent restaurant and amazing friendly helpful staff. The layout of the hotel is well thought out, not overcrowded and not overlooking each other. Just along the beach from the genuine Cafe Del Mar - great for party-goers but far enough away that there is no noise disturbance. Also a good selection of local restaurants and a few shops about 10 mins walk along the beach. Highly recommend and we really hope to come back some day!

These villas are incredible. We booked this as we wanted somewhere decent to stay and weren’t sure at the time of booking if we would have to isolate or not due to covid, luckily we didn’t have to but would’ve been more than happy to spend a week there and not leave. The villa itself has the wow factor, the pictures do not do it justice! The pool is the highlight big enough for large groups, me and my partner had it all to ourselves! They also have an amazing app to download onto your phone-where they have information, can book excursions, order food and chat to one of the team if required (all of whom were very friendly and always greeted us with a smile), they were very quick to respond and also messaged to ask when a convenient time to clean the room would be. The rooms are huge, good air conditioning, clean and have everything you could need! We also asked if we check out at a later time and they accommodated this at no further expense. We have been to Thailand/Phuket many times and stayed in similar resorts and this is by far the best and exceeded every expectation. The location is within walking distance from shops, restaurants and Kamala beach and a short drive to Patong. I can’t praise this place enough, we will certainly be booking again and will be our base in Phuket for the future.
