Reviewed By KatherineY186Very friendly service and lovely spacious room, with high ceilings and a beautiful view. My husband and I were there for two nights and had a delicious meal in the restaurant one night, and yummy takeaway pizza from the cafe the other night. Interesting selection of local wines too which were fun to try. The hotel is slightly run down and could use a little maintenance but all in all a wonderful stay and we would return.

It is not new, but was definitely consistent with my previous NZ experience that the older establishments are often cleaner, more comfortable and run by some of the nicest people you will ever meet. We were able to walk up to the supermarket and buy groceries to save more $ by cooking in the equipped kitchenette. I'd definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting to stay in Kaitaia and I can say we were three happy aussies that drove out the next morning to continue our NZ adventures.

The place really needs a makeover - the decor is tired and the furniture could do with some TLC - the table our TV was on had wonky legs and we were scared to move it in case it fell apart!!. The pool is no longer available - we were told it is currently under construction - it is more like a pond for frogs - very sad because it would be a lovely outlook, huge asset and a wonderful place to sit and have a quiet drink after a day in the sun. The daily breakfast is nice but it is the same every day - suggest some variety or perhaps offering different ways for customers to have their eggs - not everyone prefers them fried. Would have been good if the kitchenette had a toaster and maybe a frypan so that we could have cooked if we wanted to - there was only a microwave and a small fridge. We were made to feel very welcome with lots of nice chats with the host.

Hostel is very much standard, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. Didn't use the kitchen as arrived late. Very quiet and peaceful at night for sleeping. Waking distance into Kaitaia Town.

Reviewed By BASSA-DIVery well maintained and run and close to a great beach. The location faces south so is a little cold in late autumn but would be very desirable in the heat of summer. Would definately stay here again.

Reviewed By C335BQmarkdVery, very disappointing staying there again. I travel to Kaitaia for business and I have tolerated staying there because there are not too many options. This time is my last. The unit they put me in the bathroom window did not close because one of the latches was broken and there was a rather large cobweb you think someone would notice and clean. I put the extra towels around to keep the draft out. The units are tired and need an upgrade, they have been like that for many years. The staff were great, very friendly and the food was very good and well presented.

Our Motel is centrally located in Kaitaia, a 5 minute walk to shops. Wonderful licensed restaurant across the road. Free parking, free Wifi and Sky Guest Select (50+ channels) in all rooms. Swimming pool, spa pool, trampoline for the children and BBQ all available for guests. Great place to stop and explore the Far North. We can book a day trip to Cape Reinga for you - a wonderful experience!

I arrived after a long day of travelling and whilst it looks as though the motel is under construction the room was comfortable, warm and clean inside.

Separate kitchen with dining table. Great location, across the road from playground and visitors information. Quick stroll to town centre

Wifi is also free. 2 nights of my stay was just perfect. I definitely recommend this house for a stay in kaitaia. Still, private thanks to Glean.
