My husband and I stayed at the Comfort Hotel earlier this month for the first time ever and we were very impressed with absolutely everything. The staff were all so friendly and helpful and radiated happiness in such a way it was contagious. Our room was clean and spacious and someone had thought of everything, right down to a nightlight in the bathroom and a large 2-sided handheld mirror on the vanity, very important details (to us) never seen at any other hotel. They also offer free movies on DVD that you can choose and check out at the front desk. The icing on the cake was the wonderful hot breakfast! We will definitely be staying at the Comfort Hotel in the future. Definitely worth 5 stars!

Great stay

We had an amazing stay at this property. So many little extras such as real glasses and glass mugs in the room. Real creamers and milkettes in the fridge, wine bottle opener, huge bath towels. Every staff member we encountered was beyond helpful and friendly. Only one downfall about this place is that the views on the back side of the hotel look like a prison yard.

Outstanding service

I was so impressed by the staff at this Hotel. It was often commented on by my friends/colleagues who were also staying there for a conference . I cannot remember when I last stayed somewhere where I would be able to state by name outstanding staff. In this instance there are four, Nathan at the Front Desk, Kaleb the Concierge and Mikala and Jessica at the Level Bar.

Noisy, needs reno

Reviewed By haaustin

Our room was right by the elevator on the fifth floor, also where one of two ice machines is located. There was significant light entering the room at night from around the door, as well as significant noise that meant we had a hard time getting to sleep and were woken up through the night as well. The thermostat could only be adjusted in full degrees so the temperature of the room was difficult to control. There was a lot of noise coming up from the street to our room as well despite the curtains being closed. The staff at the front desk were wonderful but I won't plan to stay again.

The Sutton Place Hotel Halifax

Good Hotel, could be great!

Reviewed By E9060CUrichardh

Firstly let me start by saying how fantastic all the staff are at the Sutton Place Halifax, and a special mention to Olivia who checked us in and greeted us everyday of our stay. The room we were given was beautiful with great views of the harbour from the floor to ceiling windows. It was extremely tastefully decorated with a very comfy king bed, a huge couch, an arm chair and loads of storage space. The bathroom was equally as beautiful, with a separate toilet and a lovely rainfall shower. The only reason I haven’t given it 5 stars, is the lack of the little touches, such as complimentary bottled water, which is now the norm in most hotels of equal calibre these days. There was also an empty mini bar with a price list, so if you wanted water or a soda you couldn’t even buy one. This did become a problem for us one night as the convenience stores in Halifax seem to close relatively early. Also a kettle would be nice as well as a Nespresso machine in order to have the choice of tea or coffee. Other than those minor shortcomings, we really enjoyed our stay at the Sutton Place Halifax and would definitely stay again.

Nice enough hotel, travelling as a family for hockey tournament. Stayed for 2 nights, but after the first night our room was not cleaned and had to call front desk to replenish basic needed items such as towels and toilet tissue etc. Pre-ordered breakfast but still had to wait 40 minutes for it when time had been stipulated in the pre-order process.

Certainly one of the best in Halifax!

We stayed many many times in Halifax and stayed here several times. Overall it's a top hotel in Halifax and a nice flagship property under the full service Marriott brand. I can't really find many bad aspects for this property other than the temperature control in the room which can be a bit lacking, prices can be bit high as well, but that's just Halifax this time of year and after 2 years of Covid, people are out and about! Ultra clean guestrooms, spacious and cozy, we were really treated well by the staff as Bonvoy Elite members, everything we asked for we got. The rooms are techy with outlets in abundance and Netflix + Youtube on the TV. Location is outstanding and attached to Scotia Square & the Casino, many places to walk to and places to eat. We either stay here or at the Westin and really love both properties, we are Marriott loyalists afterall. Can't wait to come back and would recommend. Enjoy!

Truly Awful

This hotel is not at all what it appears on line. It is truly a dump. My room was awful, service was awful and the “breakfast” was inedible. It looks really nice on line but I was shocked at how worn out and tired the place was. I have nothing hood to say about it other than the location. I would never stay here again.
